However, I found that many of the guides' authors have left the site for years and are unlikely to be available to give their consent. Can I just go and do the translation, or do I only work on those who I can reach? What is the site's general view on this? "Hey, talk about yourself for a bit." "About what?" Luminesce October 3, 2024 October 3, 2024 (edited) I think if someone didn't explicitly say "Do not post this guide elsewhere", then it's probably fine to translate it, as long as you make it very clear it's their guide and link to the original thread here Doesn't hurt to ask permission first (I believe sending DMs will email notify most people), but yeah, a lot of old members are just totally gone so If someone did say "Do not post this elsewhere", or if they don't give you permission to translate it off-site, you can always re-post their guide, translated, as a response in the original guide's thread, and link people to that post.
