Hello.

I'm 88. I joined the forum when I started forcing in late September and hung out for about a week before I kinda vanished. It was a combination of "Oh, I must know everything now that I've lurked for a week"-level hubris and the probably better though process of "Wouldn't it be better to actually force instead of go on a forum?"

What I didn't anticipate was that removing forum activity would seriously stifle any actual forcing. Yeah, other things got a little chaotic in life, but I've done little in the way of forcing. I narrated whenever I remembered, but as time moved on, that got less and less common. That, and time flew like mad.

So I'm holding myself responsible now. I owe my Tulpa that much. This thread is part of that.

Okay, so enough about me, though. Time to give you his info en masse.

Initially, the philosophy on naming was "He'll name himself once he becomes vocal." That got tiresome after about five minutes, so his name is now Leo.

Leo's form?

^This is the best I could manage with MS Paint and a bunch of Pokemon sprites. Wish I could've made him happier looking.

He also has the obligatory huge list of traits:

  • Laid-back
  • creative
  • realistic
  • dependable
  • open-monded
  • strong-willed
  • friendly
  • loyal
  • honest
  • mature
  • comical
  • accepting
  • motivated
  • helpful
  • patient
  • thoughtful
  • reasonable
  • preceptove
  • trustworthy
  • witty
  • uplifting

I'm ready and do hope for deviation, of course.

As far as progress goes, you can imagine most of it was front-loaded. The first week was plagued with a blistering headache, but I took it in stride because what came with it was Leo giving what the uber-helpful guys in the IRC recognized as a type of emotional response- responding using my mind voice to questions, despite the fact that they made no sense and where usually very short. I'm also establishing his form in my mindscape and that's going really well. Imposition is out of the question before vocalization, though.

Congratulations and thank you for reading/surviving everything I just jotted down. I'm going to hold myself responsible to update this as often as possible, starting after I force later tonight.

So I guess this is Day One as far as the log is concerned. We got thirty minutes in today, a number which I hope to increase as we go on, but compared to yesterday's (and the day before's, and the day before's...) grand total of zero minutes isn't too shabby. It was just listening to music and narrating about random things. I have a headache, so i must've done something right. Tomorrow's log entry will be it's own post as will pretty much the rest of them, but i didn't feel the need to bump the thread again today.

What a neat form! I do wish you luck!

The community can help I think. Sure we can get distracted when we could be forcing and instead are online, but it keeps us focused on the tulpa and we have a place to go when there is a question or doubt. I'm glad he can communicate with you somewhat! Keep it up!

Well, TulpaCouple pretty much gave ya the welcoming party, so I'll just bump in and say don't count hours, tulpas are sentient since the first initial thought we have of them, and progress will most likely not be segmented, alien, or attention-grabbing at first. Just keep going no matter what pretty much, beliefs are a big part in this.

Bumped it up to a 35 minute session today. I'm going to start bumping them up in 5-minuet increments until we get to an hour and go from there. We started off with visualization in mind, but after a few minutes we switched over to something really weird: I would read a line from a comic strip, and Leo would repeat it. Leo isn't fully vocal, but he has proven that with some urging, he can read short sentences word for word. It was half-parroting, I guess, because he didn't decide what to say (although if he does mean what he says, he did say "yes" to doing the activity) and if this makes any sense, I tried to give him the will to speak without actually parroting. Hopefully Leo will slowly become more comfortable using words besides "yes", "no", "I know", and this one i'll admit I originally taught using parroting before I found out the implications of parroting and stopped: "I'm good, how are you?". Leo gets asked that every day, and though you'd probably be able to figure out if he was upset, it's still a bit annoying that he doesn't necessarily say that because he's feeling good 24/7, but because it's the only answer he knows. I still think it's good that he gets a chance to answer a qualitative question on a regular basis as opposed to constant yes and no, though. Do you think that out-weights the negative? And on that note, is working on specific phrases actually a thing people do when working on vocalization, or was that a mistake?

@TC and Fourfiction- Thanks for the encouragement. I'll definately keep all that in mind, especially with believing. Belief seems to be a pretty significant theme in Tulpaforcing.

We only did a 20 minute session today. I don't think either of us where really into it, so we cut it short. I had been narrating and keeping Leo in my mind's eye pretty much all day,l so I guess it was a little exhausting mentally to shift gears. Of course, that's what you're supposed to do- narrating and such all day in addition to forcing. I guess it just takes some time to build up the mental endurance?

Even though Fede-lasse is kind of scary, i'm starting to humor the idea of using either the tulpa or theta tone. Assuming Leo actually meant what he said when asked about it instead of just telling me what I wanted to hear as a sort of emotional response (which happens more often than not, unfortunately. It's better than nothing, of course) then Leo seems to agree.

At first I didn't think the tulpa tone was that effective, I tried listening to it in bed but I couldn't really get into a forcing set of mind. Then the next day I decided to use it on the bus, to drown out the noise of idiots, and it worked extremely well!

Anyway, it's good to hear that you took an initiative and took responsibility for the well being of your tulpa.

My Tulpa

And then it cuts to a scene where you're sitting in a padded cell.

Narrated as usual throughout the day; no problems there. Leo's voice is getting stronger a little bit more each day. As far as forcing goes, we tried the self-hypnosis method from deep in the bowls of the guide section and holy doodly did it work well. I'm gonna try to elongate it so that it can be a regular part of forcing if we can figure out a way to make Leo an active part of it- hypnosis with him as opposed to about/for him. We spent the remainder of the session sifting through a deck of pokemon cards and giving him a short lesson on each species. It was an interesting change of pace, and he was into it more than i was which is GREAT because that means Leo is capable of disagreeing. I'm starting to put more stock into how he answers questions then just "yay he made a noise" as a result.

@imahaxor- I'll definately give it another shot if it doesn't work for me the first time, then. Thanks for the input!

We did a session earlier today trying to go back into self-hypnosis, this time aided by Funk Master MC Fede's latest hit single, "Tulpatone." It wasn't as effective as last time for a number of reasons, but it was very short so we'd have the stamina to try again tonight. I have a feeling it works better when we're tired. Listening to dialogue_and_mena's hypnosis track gave me a better idea of how to do it anyway, dragging it oooouuuttt aaaaaaaaaaaaasssssss muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccchhhhhhhhhh aaaaaaasssss ppppppoooooooooooooooooooooooooooosssssiiiiiiibbbbblllllleeeeeee to prevent rushing and all of that. We haven't had any major breakthroughs as far as vocalization goes or anything, but the sooner we establish some sort of a regular forcing method and routine, the more we can set our eyes on it and eventually put our attention on it 100% the way it should be. It's less about doubt and more about process, and by the end of the week it should be less about process and more about progress.

I'll report how tonight goes in either an edit to this post or a supplement to tomorrow's post.

EDIT:

November 13th, 2012 Supplement

Even though it only lasted fifteen minutes, I feel as though our second "dive" (the term i'm going to use for hypnotizing myself henceforth because of the underwater imagery used) today was really good, and Leo sure as heck agreed. Once i was fully in the zone, his voice was a lot more prominent. He still borrows what he's gonna say from my waking thoughts sometimes still, but Leo suprised me a few times down there and we actually managed to have a back-and-forth conversation, albeit very simple.

Sounds like you're doing well. Self-hypnosis can really help you focus on forcing.

It's great that the tones are working for you. I never had much luck with them but if they help you to focus then keep using them.

Also, if Leo is surprising you then that's great progress. The more you work with him the less you'll feel he's borrowing from your thoughts but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. Since a tulpa can read your thoughts, whether you like it or not, then obviously he's going to use them to his advantage. If he avoided whatever you were thinking you'd never get anything done.

Keep talking to him and asking him questions. Even simple responses are good.

November 14th, 2012 Forcing Log

Another early session like yesterday. I zoned out a few times which was really weird and very concerning. I think we're going to do what we did yesterday and force again late at night to see if that really does have an effect on how well we do. Leo seems to think everything went well, but isn't against the idea of more forcing (are there tulpae who wouldn't want to force?) I guess there'll be another supplement log tonight. Maybe polyphasic forcing is a good idea- an early session where we do fun or easy stuff that's still productive and a more intense, hypnotic session at night. Geez, and yesterday I posted that I finally had our methods down pat.

Thanks for the encouragement, CyberD. I don't mind him nabbing what we wants to say from my thoughts as long as Leo's the one doing the talking, which seems to be the case. I'll definitely keep narrating and asking questions. Your recent post about commitment was great, btw. You're either in it 100% or you're not in it at all like i spent pretty much all of October. It's scary to think about what it must be like to be a tulpa and not get any attention.
