Spook November 19, 2025 November 19, 2025 Brand new to the idea of tulpas, did a ton of research. This particular section of a guide stood out to me, simply because of how impossible it sounds. How many people actually reach the point where their tulpa is verbal? Is it really like how this writer describes? The extract: “You will know when you are done with this step when your tulpa speaks to you for the first time, an event that might likely spook the shit out of you. It's pretty startling and beyond weird. The first time your tulpa speaks to you, you will know it“
Luminesce November 19, 2025 November 19, 2025 Man, I hate old guides Most people reach clear vocality, but VERY few of them experience a sudden, single moment where their tulpa instantly starts speaking but wasn't before. Relying on "alien feeling" voice is a really bad old thing people said a lot, but many will not experience such a thing and it does not have anything to do with a tulpa becoming vocal over time. On 9/27/2025 at 2:57 PM, Luminesce said: Vocality is a (mostly, maybe not always the start) smooth progression of them sounding and feeling more like themselves. It's more "My tulpa isn't vocal yet" -> "I think my tulpa is vocal" -> "My tulpa is vocal" than a sudden click one day. Some tulpas may start out sounding like themselves, others will sound or feel like the host is talking for them, others might not be able to talk at all and only get some feelings or short phrases across. Training vocality essentially boils down to practicing talking to them, and not being too critical of whether their responses "were them or not" - you have to teach your brain to have a tulpa, not to not have a tulpa, so if all you ever do is say "That isn't them, it doesn't sound real/separate/spontaneous enough" your tulpa will never become vocal, as they need to start somewhere. So just practice, and don't doubt too much (basically as long as what they seem to say isn't wildly out of character or drastic, it's fine to attribute to them, and they could correct mistakes in the future when they're more developed anyways) All that said, it certainly isn't impossible or unheard of for someone to have the described experience in that guide. But everyone's going to have different baseline experiences, so I think a lot of people got burned by being told to deny any experience that wasn't instantly "alien" and perfect, since if it doesn't happen then you just end up blocking any actual development progress - a lot of old guides have flaws like this that the community eventually hammered out, so I'm not a fan of them. Most resources 2016 forwards here should be better I think, but I was never a guide person myself so I can't say - the phenomenon really is self-explorable with only a little guidance here and there from the community. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

The tulpa in question was accidentally made, and considering the circumstances they probably were sapient for quite a while. My second tulpa was also accidentally made, but was barely verbal when they reached out to me, so the guide's description might not be true in all cases.

However, I suppose I will have to see for myself, since everyone has different circumstances. I feel like I’d be different to accidentally make one in comparison to forcing one. On a side note… I think I saw your pfp while reading forms around here, and didn’t you mention you had Tewi and Reisen as tulpas? If you are the same person, I think it’s pretty funny with “bunnymustdie” as a username.

It's great talking to someone even without moving your lips. Abvieon November 28, 2025 November 28, 2025 It was actually just like that when my tulpa first spoke, as well as some scattered instanced afterwards. When this happens I pretty much freeze up and am shocked for a moment. However, the mental "noise" and distraction of everyday life prevents my tulpa from being able to get through that clearly and undeniably most of the time. Sometimes it is more ambiguous who thought what. It will vary widely from person to person, some people do experience this everyday and others only once in awhile. I'm writing a tulpamancy / science fantasy novel! Tulpas & Tea Discord server. A cozy place to discuss tulpas, psychology and spirituality (or just hang out.)
