Guest Tulpamancer December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 Hey everyone, I've started a new channel on YouTube that's completely dedicated to promoting the Tulpae community, and science behind it - in a positive, legitimate manner. Basically, There will be a personal vlog of my Tulpa's communication process. I'll also be updating the channel with news from Tulpa.info, and promote any advances in Tulpae research, I deem important. As soon as tonight, I'll probably be posting the first vlog. I hope this channel will help spread the word about this fascinating phenomenon, and your subscription/support would be greatly appreciated!
waffles December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 >youtube >tulpae I'll be honest. I can't envision this ending well for anyone. As a question, what exactly do you think the science behind tulpas is?
Guest Tulpamancer December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 generally speaking, the scientific community views dissociation (in any form) as negative towards mental health. Tulpae creation falls under this umbrella, unfortunately. To answer your question though - as far as I know - there isn't any credible research being done.
waffles December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 Right. So when you say "promoting the science behind tulpas" you mean armchair theorising, right?
Guest EnnervateIndustries December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 I'm afraid you are going to get trolled into oblivion and psychoanalyzed by every single person you know. I cannot honestly recommend that anyone does this. Just sayin'.
G+3 December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 I don't really like the sound of this. You are going to get trolled, epicly, but that's only the start of it: I don't think it's right to be putting out something like tulpæ so extrovertedly like that, it's a deeply personal thing between you and your tulpa. It's the same with incredibly extroverted, let's say, bronies: it's just not something you do, it's really annoying and every one tuts a little when you say anything. I don't think it will be fair on your tulpa either, what if they want to back out? But that's just me and my ''introverted-versus-extroverted personals-&-fandoms complex'', please keep your personal things on the inside. If you do go through with it please be courteous of other tulpamancers & tulpæ and ask their permission before talking about them, if they're plans to do such thing on the channel. I'll subscribe and see what's it about, I've just got this really sour feeling about this. Dear One December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 Hey everyone, I've started a new channel on YouTube that's completely dedicated to promoting the Tulpae community, and science behind it - in a positive, legitimate manner. What science? As far as I know, no scientific studies have been done regarding tulpae. Basically, There will be a personal vlog of my Tulpa's communication process. At this point, people are just going to think that you are talking to yourself and have a good laugh at your expense. What news? In my opinion there hasn't been anything very newsworthy on this site since its inception. The community has had a great deal of dialogue concerning tulpae, but I don't consider that very newsworthy. Advances in research? As far as I know, there hasn't been any serious research. Just out of curiousity, what factors do you use to determine if an advancement in tulpae research is important or not? Finally, I think your channel will do more harm than good because I am of the opinion that bad press is not good press and I think that your channel will bring nothing but bad press as well as shitposters galore.
Guest Tulpamancer December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 Right. So when you say "promoting the science behind tulpas" you mean armchair theorising, right? No, in fact, I'm very optimistic about the future of understanding - through research. I think the more attention we can give to Tulpae, the more chances they'll have for actual scientific backing. Without people showing their faces, and emphasizing the positivity of Tulpae communication, this phenomenon will remain unimportant to society, and misunderstood.
waffles December 16, 2012 December 16, 2012 In that case, if you're looking for scientific credibility then a Youtube channel will do nothing useful. In fact, this will probably do plenty to discredit what little anyone here has.
