Time dilation is when you spend hours in a dream and wake up having been asleep for 5 minutes, or the other way around.

 

I once slept for about 5 minutes and the time went from 11pm to 9am. It was crazy.

 

As for Darksport, I wouldn't read too much into it. In dreams a lot of crazy shit happens, and almost any theory for why fits. I highly doubt it was a tulpa of any form or origin. If it was, then everyone would be swimming in the fuckers.
