Waterbijdewijn June 3, 2012 June 3, 2012 I've read a lot here about some tulpae being able to fly, some to shapeshift and such. When and how do you put it into the creation process? I couldn't find anything about it in the guides. quidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur
glitchthe3rd June 3, 2012 June 3, 2012 You could put them in day one, if you wanted to. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Waterbijdewijn June 3, 2012 Author June 3, 2012 And any idea how? Just like a personality trait? quidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur
glitchthe3rd June 3, 2012 June 3, 2012 It's just something you add as part of their design. So if you want them to use elemental magic, you have to specify that as one of their abilities. Alternatively, you can do what I did and make their power the ability to absorb and use new powers, which would be a sort of coverall trait. Phi June 3, 2012 June 3, 2012 I would do it in the visualization stage, since, depending on the ability, you'll have to visualize it anyway.
bila bila June 3, 2012 June 3, 2012 Mine was able to fly from the very beginning. What were you planning on doing?
Waterbijdewijn June 4, 2012 Author June 4, 2012 I'm thinking I'll put it at the end of the personality and then follow it up in the visualisation. I'm doing the personality at the moment already. I'm planning on giving him the ability to do all kinds of mage related things. Conjuring up things, elemental magic, sparkly things.. quidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur
tulpatalk June 4, 2012 June 4, 2012 "Things your tulpa can do" seems more tied to form than anything else. I guess that general narration could do that, too. I'm going to make my tulpa be able to levitate, but prefer to stay on the ground. A similar thing with phasing through walls. It has utility, but it is uncomfortable/annoying. [Note: Opinions]

I've had my tulpa's abilities planned out since I started her, but I won't really be focusing on them until the visualization stage.
Waterbijdewijn June 4, 2012 Author June 4, 2012 All right, thanks guys. I'll save it for later. quidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur
