Do some 2D tulpa feel flat? If not, is it odd that they look flat but feel 3D?

Also, I'm alright at open eye visualisation, but if I close my eyes, I can't imagine anything. Is this odd or common?

Everytime I think about my tulpa, I go to use gender neutral pronouns, but a thought (in my own mindvoice) pops up and stands out, interrupting or correcting me with female pronouns. Is this my tulpa telling me she is female/prefers female pronouns?

I was planning on waiting until my tulpa was vocal before working on her form. One time I was narrating and imagining my tulpa's presence behind me to my left. I glanced at her and for a split second I saw a 2D cartoon female in her place looking at me. She was so clear and vivid. Was she my tulpa?

I've only been working on her for about 2 weeks, but sometimes I get feelings and thoughts from her. One time I even heard a few sentences from her. It was loud and clear, but in my head, and in a voice slightly higher and more feminine than my mindvoice. It was when I went to sit down at my desk and I glanced at Scott Pilgrim vol. 1, where I had read a chapter from it to her a day before. She said "Oh God, don't you dare read another fucking chapter from that piece of shit. Go read something decent. Please! Reading that is fucking torture." I know it was her because I would never make her say that. At least we have different opinions...

EDIT: As soon as I posted this (I'm using my phone) I saw her sitting on the ground in the corner of the room, for a second or two. I couldn't see all of her because my phone was in the way. It was kinda creepy and unexpected.

When I first decided to make a tulpa, I had no idea whether I wanted a male or female tulpa or what it would look like.

By the time I read a few guides and decided to do my first tulpaforcing session, she was already there along with the wonderland.

She has the form of a human female with an anime-like appearence.

(And no, she does not look or feel flat. - You simply need to be able to visualise her from any (every) angle and you shouldn't have that problem.)

I've noticed the same thing with her voice - it's a higher and more feminine version of my own mindvoice.

As for the visualisation - I can do it with my eyes open or closed, but I'm better at it with my eyes closed.

The flatness isn't a problem. I was actually hoping her form would be 2D cartoon.

So far all I've worked on was narration, "sensing" her presence, and her personality.

It's all happening quicker than I expected. :D

I'm fine with whatever gender she chooses... But I was kinda hoping she'd be genderqueer so I'd have someone to discuss it all with someone who sort of understood how I feel...

EDIT: I haven't felt her or anything yet. I was just asking about the feeling flat thing because I've read about 2D tulpae and was just curious.

From what I understand, tulpae can be made however you want.

I would guess that she could be either flat or 3D, according to your preference.

Hopefully someone with a 2d tulpa finds this thread and can give you a better answer.

1) A 2D character has depth too. A drawer will add shadows to make the 2D look more 3D. Fede's guide goes into how you can do this when you impose.

2) Yes it's common. You usually daydream with your eyes open.

3) Maybe. Or maybe you want her to be a girl.

4) Maybe. I envy your imagination, though.

5) Hearing her talk after just two weeks is common I believe. You should make a bigger effort to listen for her answers.

1: It depends on the tulpa. As a 3D tulpa, QB says being flat "feels flat", when he runs around in my computer screen. I'd say it's probably what they're used to that defines it.

2: Varies from person to person.

3: Could be. Could just be that you nave a natural aversion to nonspecific gender pronouns, which speakers of gendery languages often do. Go with it, anyway.

4: Or your expectation of your tulpa, which shows up and a lot and pretty much becomes the tulpa. Whichever, it's your brain, at this point it doesn't matter much.

5: Yay.

The above post does not contain facts.

q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.

I actually have a habit of referring to most people using gender neutral pronouns. I hate gendered pronouns/titles.

I have another question. Sorry if I'm bothering anyone.

Sometimes when I'm narrating, I hear her begin to say something but then it just stops. Like when someone goes to say something, but changes their mind or gets interrupted halfway through the first word.

Anyone know how to fix this? I want to hear what she's saying, but it's like my mind just cuts her off.

^

I don't have much experience with this, so I can't guarantee the accuracy of what I'm about to say, but...

My guess is that you're trying too hard.

You can hear her when relaxed, but the moment you try to focus on what she's saying, you unintentionally shut her out.

You have to learn to listen and relax at the same time.

I can't tell you exactly how to do that though, I'm still busy figuring it out myself.
