Spiritsofdragon March 5, 2013 March 5, 2013 Hey there, Just starting out, more or less. I have been insanely interested in tulpa for a while, I have (admittingly) been stocking the forums for a while now, and have had the thought of my tulpa floating around in my head for a long time now. I finally have just really started out and I have just some pretty typical questions from a newbie. 1.) What is an effective way to narrate? 2.) Having trouble with exactly what I should do with Personality, any tips? 3.) Is Tulpaforcing with your eyes open a possibility? 4.) Is Tulpaforcing possible while doing something else? ( I'm horrificially ADD) Thanks in advance for any advice, and for helping another starting off newbie.
Renfer112 March 5, 2013 March 5, 2013 1) Just talk to your tulpa. It can be about anything, it doesn't matter in the slightest how you do it, as long as you're doing it. 2) Not sure what you mean by this. Have you read the guide? If you just want personality Ideas, just pick the traits you admire in other people 3) Not until imposition, any sooner and it could create a servitor (or so I've been told) 4) Depends on what you're doing, I guess. Talking to a person: probably not. Free running: definitely not. Walking down the street: Yes Working out: yes It all really depends on your level of focus.

Super Monkey March 5, 2013 March 5, 2013 1. Just talk to your tulpa about anything really. All through out the day, just give commentary on what your doing. 2. I just let Mary work out most of her own personality on her own. I gave input on a few key emotions, but for the most part she just evolved around those and took from the different emotions that I exhibited when ever I was narrating something. 3. Yes. Passive forcing is possible, but active forcing is a little more difficult to do.(for me at least) Actively forcing being just sitting down, and spending time with your tulpa. You could try to do that with your eyes open, but I find it more difficult to concentrate when they are open. 4. Sure. You could passively force while engaged in another activity. Narrating works well in situations like this. Also, Welcome to the forums. :) Tulpa: Mary Sex: Female Began 11-16-12 Stage: Sentient- working on a voice
waffles March 5, 2013 March 5, 2013 1) Talk to them all the time, about anything and everything. Do it while getting dressed, in the shower, walking somewhere, listening to someone boring talk, and so on. Key thing: to them, not to yourself. I wouldn't advise starting now if you're just starting personality though. 2) If you do want to do personality (it's optional) then work out what you want your tulpa to be in a general sense. You can pick traits if you want. What I did was then talk them through everything, as per FAQ_man's personality guide. You don't need to go into that much detail though. 3) Completely. Open-eye visualisation is often a better choice. If you're doing personality then closing your eyes is probably better, since you'll likely focus better, but that's not to say you can't do it with your eyes open. Just be sure that your attention isn't going to wander too much if you want to do it. 4) Unless you're talking about narration, I wouldn't recommend it. For visualisation, personality, or just spending quality time with them, it's both counterproductive and neglectful to be doing something else. If you're really bad at concentrating, then either do shorter sessions (20+ minutes) and/or try harder to concentrate.
Spiritsofdragon March 5, 2013 Author March 5, 2013 Thanks everyone. I've been trying some of this out and it's really working out for me. You think Narration is a bad idea when I'm about 5 hours into personality?
Renfer112 March 5, 2013 March 5, 2013 It depends on your method. When I made my tulpa, I just made her personality and talked to her for a few days, and she turned out fine.
