NeonKnights March 6, 2013 March 6, 2013 My tulpa began deviating her form back on Feb. 26th, just over a week ago. She seemed happy with this new form of hers and it remained consistent until yesterday, when she began pulling away from it and deviating again. Is it normal for a tulpa to "align to subconscious desires" and deviate two separate times, or might this be some cause for alarm? How long does the typical deviation period last, for that matter? An idea I got was that she was just test-driving different forms which she thought I might like in order to see which one she likes best. Is this plausible? I'm pretty sure I didn't have a hand in either deviation, and in fact pleaded with her to at least think this latest one through before changing more. She honored that, and promised she would, but still changed just a few hours later. If she's doing this herself, I don't want to inhibit her, of course. "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
KenzieK March 6, 2013 March 6, 2013 My friend's tulpa recently changed both her form and her name. I don't think it's something to worry about, she's probably just trying to figure out what form suits her best. They like having the free will do do things like changing form. Maybe she'll even want to be a shapeshifter tulpa? Name-Yuki Sex-Female Form1-Arctic wolf, big blue eyes Form2-Long white hair, blue eyes, pale skin, white wolf ears/tail, light blue jacket Personality-Compassionate, calm, sarcastic, playful, protective, introverted Stage-Sentient, vocal, working on possession
NeonKnights March 6, 2013 Author March 6, 2013 Oh good, I've been hoping that's the case, glad to hear that it isn't out of the realm of possibility that she's just trying out different forms. I'd been encouraging towards her from the outset in regards to deviation, I just didn't know if there was a point at which I needed to set my foot down on the matter and help her secure a solid form. Guess not. It would be pretty interesting if she became a shape-shifter, and I think it's quite possible since she seems to have form alteration down pretty well. :D "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
Lacquer March 6, 2013 March 6, 2013 You're asking about the "typical" way a tulpa works. There is none. http://tulpa.info/guides/how-to-read-guides.html "Is (insert thing related to creation) normal?" NOTHING is normal when you're talking about tulpae. Everyone's experience is going to be different; ergo we can't tell you what's normal and what's not. Chances are you're going to be told just to roll with it, so stop asking. It's your mind, not ours, you're the one that's going to know if something is normal or not.
waffles March 6, 2013 March 6, 2013 Deviation happens all the time, for various reasons. It can be instant, or it can happen over th course of months. It doesn't matter either way. If it's just changing appearances then there's no need to worry. Such a change is easily reversible. In my view, any kind of deviation is good in some way. You'll be alright whatever you do, really. Don't try to stifle it unless its something you really don't want.
NeonKnights March 6, 2013 Author March 6, 2013 Thanks, guess I was taking form deviation a bit too seriously. I just worried that her continuing to deviate might be problematic, but the deviations themselves have actually made her more and more appealing. So, nothing to worry about, it seems. And Lacquer, that's a bit of old news, that snippet. Of course nothing is "normal", but it doesn't stop me from worrying when my tulpa begins to alter her form in accords with my latest interests.
