G|d30n June 9, 2012 June 9, 2012 Can narration be words in the head, or spoken word? Well, more like which is 'better'? I force at night and don't want anyone who has to live with me to be disturbed by me whispering to myself after midnight. Actually that'd be hilarious... In my opinion spoken word is better because you want to treat your tulpa as though it's real (in a sense) and sentient. To me, speaking inside your head kind of reinforces the idea that it's imaginary. You can still probably accomplish the same goal by inner narration, but I have to imagine it would take longer. I'm also of the opinion that speaking openly, out loud, is better than whispering, because again, you want to act as though your tulpa is there and that it's not at all weird that you're talking to it--you're just talking to your friend who's totally right there with you. When I want to do this, if I can't be alone at home, I just go for a walk or drive and if I expect to see other people I wear a bluetooth. If I can't do that for whatever reason, I get on an online game and wear a headset (but actually mute my mic so that actual players aren't constantly going "Huh?"). No one really has any reason to question any random thing you're apparently saying to some Internet stranger, especially if they can only hear your half of the conversation. I've always told people to talk out loud as well; the whole talking-in-head thing just reinforces the whole "I'm dreaming." thing. Though, I tend to do both, which works great, too. a bluetooth.Bluetooth is a technology used in wireless headsets. You're just like Dane... <_<
G|d30n June 9, 2012 June 9, 2012 Bluetooth is a technology used in wireless headsets. You're just like Dane... <_< It's also the colloquial shorthand for bluetooth headset though, and is coming to be a blanket term applied to pretty much all wireless headsets. I even hear others in the gaming industry who are more technologically adept than me use it that way. Though, since bluetooth technology is being used in a lot more than headsets now, it is a fair criticism. Progess on my tulpa, Lauren. Lauren's survey and stylometric test.
