Tulpony March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 So I've been reading Pix an MLP fanfic. Sometimes when I'm visualizing what's happening in the story, Pix will suddenly show up instead of the main character. I can tell it's her doing it because the whole scene will suddenly look different, it's only that specific character, and she stopped once I asked her enough times. It seems like it could be a fun thing to do together if it is harmless, but I'm concerned continuing the story at that point would technically count as puppeting, or some other weird issue. Any ideas? Has this ever happened to anyone else?
KenzieK March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 Puppeting isn't always bad, I did it all the time when I was working on my tulpa. But this doesn't sound like puppeting, It sounds like maybe pix wants to do this fun little activity and be in the stories. If she's vocal you should try talking to her about it. Name-Yuki Sex-Female Form1-Arctic wolf, big blue eyes Form2-Long white hair, blue eyes, pale skin, white wolf ears/tail, light blue jacket Personality-Compassionate, calm, sarcastic, playful, protective, introverted Stage-Sentient, vocal, working on possession
fennecfoxx March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 I wouldn't consider that puppeting. It sound more like she's choosing to act out the role of the main character for fun. Maybe she just likes acting. Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here: Host: fennec (they/them) Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her) Delete all memories of those who know my awkward past
Semi-Nomadic March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 When you read books or watch movies, don't you sometimes fantasize about what would it be like if you were there instead of the main character? Let her, it's fun to enter stories.
Spice March 30, 2013 March 30, 2013 As long as she's vocal and you can have semi fluent conversations, it makes sense to assume she could tell you when you were puppeting or parroting. So... ask her! Despite the name, the host bodybody is the one usually using this account. Spice was born in 2013 and Tomoe was born in 2014.
Tulpony March 30, 2013 Author March 30, 2013 Since this thread has somehow managed to stay active, and I'm lazy, I'll copy-paste the post from my progress report about what happened. Day 13: Read to Pix and let her into the visualization. She jumped in at the first opportunity, and was able to remain autonomous despite me controlling everything else. My view of her was exceptionally clear as well, so I'm wondering if this could count as some sort of premade wonderland. The only downside is that she happened to jump into her character's death scene, so while the character does revive, she'll be out of it for a while. Edit: Read to Pix a bit more. She got to play her own evil tulpa. She was quite good at it, though her movements are still a bit stiff. In hindsight, maybe I shouldn't be reading a tulpa a story involving an evil tulpa. She seems fine with it though. And yes, we've made this a regular thing.
mogwaimon March 30, 2013 March 30, 2013 It's quite fun to do this actually, I was finally getting around to reading the Monster Hunter International series that my buddy has been bugging me to read and Twi insisted on acting as Julie Shackleford and reading her 'lines', and Dash was cast as Holly Newcastle. I think it's great because it trains visualization (It's great for emotions and facial visualization, IMO) and helps to differentiate their mindvoice from yours at the same time.
