1. Does this increase trait deviation?

2. How long do you need to have been asleep for it to be traumatic? Is even a small amount of time, like 40 minutes, bad?

I'd be interested in hearing from an actual tulpa who has experienced this.

I haven't created a sentient tulpa to ask, but from what I've read it's your subconsious that effects the tulpa during sleep - which I imagine to be during REM?

I don't know if it increases deviation, but I'm sure it increases psychological trauma to tulpa.

Why do I answer questions in reverse order sometimes, ugh.

TheOtherGuy's tulpa has experiece with this if I remember. I would ask him, but he'll probably show up soon anyway.

I've read everything that's already been said. I'm just looking for clarification on these two points.

TOG's tulpa made it pretty clear on the IRC other times: don't do it at all. Haven't heard from other complete tulpae on it though.

Yeah, I just want a tulpa to clarify those two points.

This is from the german wikipedia, you can form your own opinion:

The time between falling asleep and the first REM phase is being labeled as "REM-Latency". An average adult's REM-Latency is about 90 minutes (± 30 minutes). If the REM-Latency is considerably shortened, e.g. 25 minutes after falling asleep, it is called a premature REM-sleep (Sleep onset REM resp. SOREM).

Sounds like russian roulette to me.
