Yori September 10, 2013 September 10, 2013 What exactly is switching supposedly like? Does it vary from person to person what is done to switch? Is it possible to get stuck? I read about hearing your tulpa by remembering their mindvoice. Can anyone here hear a mindvoice despite not having one themselves? I just want to know if that will interfere with it and make it not possible. I don't have one. yes, I know what it is, and yes I am certain i don't have one. That's just not the way I think. I never hear anything when I think, and I don't think in sentences, only mental ideas, not in any language. The reassurances were just in case most people have one and won't believe me. I've only heard of it from some people. My lip hurts.
Nobillis September 10, 2013 September 10, 2013 What exactly is switching supposedly like? Does it vary from person to person what is done to switch? Is it possible to get stuck? Kevin and Nobillis says: A collaborative answer today. For me, switching is when a tulpa totally controls the body - effectively being the human for a period of time. Switching means slightly different things to different people. Basically some people won't accept something as switching unless the human in the switch goes "elsewhere" (asleep or wonderland). I personally think that's far to rigid a definition. Others say that switching is the same as full body possession - but I've found that there is qualitative difference, a much deeper sensory experience in switching than in possession. Generally it is impossible for a human to get stuck. In your first few switches they will likely last only a few hours at best (the body tends to naturally 'snap back' to being controlled by the original human). For most the upper limit on switching is utill you sleep. Very practiced tulpas can stay switched even while sleeping, and a few can switch indefinitely (read "with years of practice'). This doesn't address the condition where a human switches and doesn't want to come back. In the interest of fairness, I've heard of two such cases, one being personally known to me. Short answer is no, a human can't commit egocide by switching. As far as mindvoice goes, most people have an inner dialogue where they can hear their own thoughts as though they were words. Some people do not - I've no idea how this affects a tulpa. Please consider supporting Tulpa.info.
Shui September 10, 2013 September 10, 2013 Not having a mindvoice may actually help you in several ways. It should make it easier to focus, speeding up most of the process. Vocality might be hindered, but there are other ways to go about vocality. Some people learn to speak with their tulpa first through possession, for example. You can also try these guides. In short, I don't think it will hurt you much, and it'll probably help more than it hinders. "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"
Zer0.iNSaNiTY September 10, 2013 September 10, 2013 You're telling me, when you type, you don't hear what you're typing at ALL. REALLY. DUDE. FREAKING- *cannot comprehend* Must make speed reading easier. Anyways, switching I usually think of as literal switching, a.k.a., the tulpa and host switch places. The host doesn't /have/ to be in the wonderland, but I just think it helps *shrugs* I dunno, we're working on it. You really can't get stuck. As for the no mind voice thing, pretty much that Shui said. [Forseen] {Muse} |Alix|

As for the no mind voice thing, pretty much that Shui said. huh? No... I don't hear anything. I didn't even know it applied to typing. I can hear something when reading anyone's text, including mine, though. Only in social things,(not things like my school work) like its supposed to represent an online projection.. through others eyes, actually. If Im disliked somewhere the voice that represents "me" (or rather, a person with negative attention with me behind it... is how I sense it... even though I know its me..) will become more annoying in my head when I am arguing against something or someone. You hear your own voice when reading? That's not right.. I hear a narrator voice when reading.. or the person's voice if 1st POV. It doesnt actually sound like a person's voice, though... you cant detect the pitch, hardly the sex. Its weird, but I assumed everyones reading was like that. My lip hurts.
