Kirito October 22, 2013 October 22, 2013 I've been tulpaforcing for a short time, I don't have an hour log but if I had to guess, I'd say somewhere around 10 hours, a lot of those happened months and months ago and I've just started to get back to it. Anyway, my tulpa is responding to me (I'm 99% sure) I hear her mindvoice and I'm working on being able to distinguish it from mine, and I'm working on visualizing her form, but I'm not really getting anywhere with either. her mindvoice is just a little tiny bit almost imperceptibly different from mine, and everytime I visualize her form, the next day its blurry and faded. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I just need to work on my focus (I know I need to work on my focus, but I'm not sure if this is all due to my inability to concentrate and focus) or if I just need to force more. does anyone have any tips or insight? “Eragon looked back at him, confused. "I don't understand." "Of course you don't," said Brom impatiently. "That's why I'm teaching you and not the other way around.”
Ashmo October 22, 2013 October 22, 2013 Drop even thinking about hour counts. They are counter productive, plain and simple. Also, try more passive forcing. Where active forcing makes up more of the "quality" time with your tulpa, passive forcing can be done in bulk because you can literally do it at just about all hours of the day. This includes thinking of your tulpa, talking to them, narrating, literally any form of attention you give your tulpa that isn't active forcing is actually passive forcing.
waffles October 22, 2013 October 22, 2013 No, hour counts aren't plain and simple counter-productive. Stop parroting what you hear from other people and actually think about why. Shi, you're not doing anything wrong. You're not necessarily very long into the process and from the looks of it your progress is pretty good. Just keep doing what you're doing, and practice visualisation more (lots of people are bad at the start; it gets better). Focus can always help too.
Quilten October 22, 2013 October 22, 2013 Personally, I wouldn't keep hour counts, but it wouldn't actually be that detrimental to the process. If you want, one thing you can do is write down how long you've forced on a slip of paper, fold it up, and put it in a jar or hat every time you force. then, if your ever curious later on, you can just empty the container and add all the times up. Linkzelda October 22, 2013 October 22, 2013 The thing with hour counts, in my opinion, as long as you're not expecting certain things to happen (e.g. reaching full-fledged vocality, imposed tulpa, higher sentience), there's nothing wrong with using them. I'm starting to get into the process of adding up the hours and minutes, and it's just that I like to keep track of what I'm doing, not for a certain pinnacle to be reached.
