Deadlykid October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 OK yeah, im lazy... so at first of all, I skipped personality , but I really do want her to have her own. Anyway! So at first I was active forcing, about 15-30 mins a day, then I started passive forcing, I drew symbols and stuff on my hands to remember, but still, I don't narrate to her much, and I much rather would, but talking to someone who cant talk back is hard for me I guess, or im just lazy. I don't know really, but I need some advice because I want to go all the way with this, so anyone else overcome this kind of thing. I don't know... Yawrfagoogle October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 Yeah, I'm the same way, I never active forced, and i didn't create a personality, I haven't finished her yet, she's not "Alive", but I also have difficulty talking to something that doesn't respond, it's like talking to a spoon... Ashmo October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 If you keep at it, it gets a lot easier and eventually becomes second nature. I basically made passive forcing a part of my lifestyle and I don't even really notice that I'm constantly doing it, even though I am. It takes time.
Guest WaterSlinky October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 Agh im a noob on this stuff but id suggest doing exactly what you are doing now. For me i dont want to force a personality or a form on my tulpa but if i skip both of these i wonder if i wont make any progress. I do have issues talking to myself without answers, it feels so odd. Do you guys talk outloud or in your head, and if in your head do you try to picture your tulpa as if it right there, or do you just talk to yourself?
Ashmo October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 I didn't work on personality or form, I let Bud choose to become exactly who he is now, but that left narration and passive forcing. Both of which are simply giving your tulpa attention. These are "beings" that thrive on attention. It's the attention that breathes life into them and it's attention that continues to let them live with in you. You don't just have to talk to it. THINK about, or just let your own random thoughts flow through your mind but keep in mind that they are watching and listening too. Give them attention.
Guest Anonymous October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 New Rule: You are not allowed to touch the computer before having done at least 20 minutes of forcing. No, you are not allowed to discuss the rule.

My suggestion (and its what ive been doing) is if you don't want to create a definite personality for your tulpa, maybe consider setting 'base traits' (basic moral codes, simple broad personality traits.) just think these to your tulpa for a few hours, then come back to them now and again. -Creative one-liner here- -Comment about a user here- -tulpa Progress report here- -symbol here- -more text- -Quote #2-
Quilten October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 Like some others have said, the more you do it (particularly active forcing for ample periods), the more second-nature it will become, so keep it up!
