SeanB October 24, 2013 October 24, 2013 Can tulpas increase connection with spirit animals? I've noticed an increase of reflexes and sometimes my eyes change colors.
Guest WaterSlinky October 25, 2013 October 25, 2013 I call bullshit sorry lol. But as for your tulpa, I don't see why not
left blank October 25, 2013 October 25, 2013 Unless you present video evidence of your mercurial irises, there's no way I can buy your claim. I would blame sudden chromatic shifts on imaginative perception and the Tyndall effect. Believe me, as an artist I have encountered people whose hazel eyes played Hell with my ability to render an accurate portrait. Additionally, I've never owned or encountered a snake (out of the 40+ species that have graced my life) with colour-shifting eyes and magical Slytherin superpowers. My "spirit animal," for want of a better word, seems to be a sifaka. Side-bounding is a thrilling and eccentric dance move, but it's not a technique I would employ to get around town. However, my ordinary human tulpas have been known to accidentally combine with my inner sifaka symbol with eerie results. Now that I think of it, side-bounding might well be an effective method for throwing off would-be human assailants. I should start practicing.

I had an urge to change my voice and it sounded like that. Unless you present video evidence of your mercurial irises, there's no way I can buy your claim. As for iridescent eyes I've never seen iridescent eyes before but I have seen a video of someone recording there eyes changing to wolf eyes, so it's possible. I've noticed that a lot of things that channel says has a tendency of working. The channel name I believe was Kelli in the raw.

Do not pass go, just run to James Randi and collect your million dollars already.
Enoch327 October 26, 2013 October 26, 2013 I really don't understand the question. Can tulpas increase your ability to shapeshift? Is that the question? If it is, then I would give a qualified yes. I think they might be able to do so slightly. A better question might be why are you having difficulty in the first place? Perhaps a tulpa could help you identify any mental blocks you might be having. Enoch, Chancellor of Mars. "Follow your bliss."-Joseph Campbell
Chupi October 28, 2013 October 28, 2013 Then you don't need to explain it to me. Do not pass go, just run to James Randi and collect your million dollars already. I've seen a LOT of claims of this and little to no real research on if or how it works. It's quite possible perceived eye color changes are due to light and angles. It's also quite possibly an actual color change but caused by something mundane like the iris stretching with dilation and contraction of the pupil, similar to how a balloon changes its shade when inflated. Best I found in a fairly quick search was this post on the JREF forum. Emotion-based eye color changes have been observed in other species (herons -- page 6, bottom paragraph). So, even without a definite accepted full explanation of the mechanism of it, I'd hardly call it evidence of anything paranormal if it is shown to happen. Improved reflexes is also pretty common with a tulpa possessing or assisting. Few people I know agree upon my iris colour because its appearance is situation dependent. With dilation my irises are distinctly blue, but when my pupil contracts they become progressively green. Somewhere between, when viewed in full spectrum lighting, is a hazel gradient of gray-green. I was under the impression that the OP was making bold claims about intense shifts between colours that I haven't read or heard about anywhere in opthalmological literature. Unless he's of avian descent (some psittacines can darken and lighten their irises too), such stunning physiological feats seem highly unlikely. At the very least, it'd be worth a trip to a physician just to feel special for a while.
GrillNinja October 31, 2013 October 31, 2013 Can Tulpas increase connection with spirit animals? Yes. Whether spirit animals are real or imaginary, I would figure creating an imagined independent persona and focusing so intently on it would naturally sharpen and heighten your ability to perceive and interact with a given spirit if they actually exist beyond the scope of inner archetypes. Can it help you with shape shifting and channeling power with a given totem? Why not? Spells and such are first given shape in the imagination and then given attention, time, and energy, and then given a reason to exist physically. Sometimes these things are interwoven and not mutually exclusive. Will it balls out change your eye color, maybe make you taller, and maybe grow claws? I do not want to say impossible. Because what if you could? Please document that if you can. More important than my opinion about how practicable the subject is, does it work for you? Story Time: I once met a Wicca practitioner years ago to claimed to have saw one of the few people who could validly shape shift do it. He apparently turned into a large cat like a cougar. He said it was at a gathering I figure was in the 80'S. He seemed sincere, although he was a bit loopy, but he did have power enough to convince me he had power. So he might have known what he was talking about. Vague theory about shape shifting: I often wondered - Ok, every time you hear some mystical shaman in a story say anything about reality they start with dreams. Eggshen went on about David LoPan being more dream than man. Every aborigine who was ever in a movie started talking about the dreamtime. I have met very few real shamans in life if any and any genuine knowledge I have about the subject came from a wide variety of books and an obsession with how things in fictional stories would work if they were real - Like David LoPan going from scraggly old man to 12ft tall evil sorcerer if he was more dream than man. Well that and self experimentation. I would love to meet a real one and compare notes to see if I'm on the right track. Anyway, to my point! My wandering thoughts and haphazard learnings has caused me to suspect that the world IS a dream, but not the same kind as when you are asleep. I think things are orderly because we are there to witness their existence. But not just us as in humans, but animals, plants, rocks, dirt, park benches, and whatever the hell else happens to think and dream about us all woven together to create a detailed complex shared perception with shifts in that perception depending on need, species, and inclination. To change one's shape or attributes is possible in various ways, I mean tattoos would count for example at a very basic level as would ritual scarring. But to straight up change into a cougar or something wouldn't necessarily be about snapping tendons and displacing organs all "American Werewolf in London" style. It would be about acknowledging the detailed dream I mentioned, taking into account all the perceptions, and then having them think with you that you would be a cougar. I would be studying what it would mean to be one, what it felt like, and more so what it is to be one. Just as much as you know what it is to be a human. For me, my friend's story would not be impossible, just stupidly difficult. If I were a professional magician, physicist, or any sort of current biologist, I would shit on my face and hit me with Richard Dawkins' junk. Which sucks, because I love science and the process of discovery and I always felt keeping an open mind is important. I have always been trying to find where science and poetry meet. ~Wielder of the Sacred Spatula~

This reminds me of the kinds of trance warriors sometimes go into before a battle. One might want to unite with the spirit of bear or lion before one fights. Is it real? Who knows? But who can deny the results? As far as dream time is concerned, wouldn't that be a way of going to where the universe was plastic enough to change things? And whether it is a place in your mind or a real place, what would the difference be as long as the change happened? I am learning to dream in meditation. It is a slow process. I am literally doing it brick by brick. Right now I can visualize four dream bricks. I am drawing on my study of hypnosis, but it is still a slow process. And who said science and poetry divorced?
