So I'm about to begin my first tulpa.

For a year now, my deepest desire is to have Feferi Peixes from Homestuck as a friend. First off, am I better visualizing a cartoon Fef, or should I visualize a cosplayer or something?

Second, what's it like? Do they seem real or cartoony? Will she sound like Feferi's headcanon voice? Would she type/write with her quirk (-E and )( ) if she took my body? Lastly, how could i get into the physical feeling if I don't know what trolls feel like?

She can look like she does in the cartoon, or like a cosplayer; it doesn't matter. Whichever you prefer.

If you decide to make their form like that of the cartoon, then they will look as such, and vice versa for if you choose their form to be realistic. Alternately, you could choose a middle ground between the two.

She will have whatever voice you give her, or that she takes for herself. If you force that typing quirk into her personality, then she likely will type with it. If not, then who knows.

The way she will "feel" is left up to your imagination. She will feel as you would expect a troll to feel, even if not consciously.

Also this should be in Questions & Answers.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

Feferi Peixes

Yay, Homestuck

That said, we should warn you about the typical pitfalls associated with tulpas based on fictional characters--a tulpa is its own, free-willed individual, so in time they may very well deviate from the character's personality, or even turn themselves into something else entirely than the character.

This isn't usually such a big problem, since even if you begin tulpaforcing with pure fangirl-squee intentions, interacting with your tulpa is sure to quickly create a true emotional bond between you, to the point where you probably won't care what they look like anymore. So remember not to violently force her to be something she doesn't want to be.

Moving to Q&A. Also please choose a more descriptive title for your threads in the future. "Questions starting on a character-based tulpa" might be a better title for this.

As Kiahdaj said, either is possible. Since you can visualize cartoon Fef better, you might want to go that route. I do suggest adding some 3D shading rather than having a totally flat cartoon look. It will make her blend into the real world better if/when you impose her. Purely flat works too but it would look a bit like a paper cutout when you overlay your image of her into reality.

Will she sound like Feferi's headcanon voice? Would she type/write with her quirk (-E and )( ) if she took my body?

Both of those are if she wants to. If you give her that voice she'll likely have it, but as always she can change it if she doesn't like it. Similarly with any quirks, but as her own person she *will* develop her own personality quirks and little things she does. Whether she keeps ones you assume onto her from the start is up to her.

Lastly, how could i get into the physical feeling if I don't know what trolls feel like?

Imagine her as feeling however you think she might. Once you have her form made, put her in a mental location / wonderland and try feeling her. See what you get. If it isn't working, describe to yourself how she ought to feel to you as you do it.
