So I have been checking this site out for quite some time as a guest for many months. In that time read over many guides and such. Decided to join not to long ago as well. However I did have one certain question. For those of you who used a base for Tulpa whether it be from a pre-existing character or what have you. Did you run into any problems in doing so?

Now I do understand for a fact that your tulpa will *never* be that character of course and one should expect that. I also understand if one does decided to base a tulpa off a character you need to let it know it is in fact not that character. Now I was wanting to create a tulpa myself but I have been holding off on doing so just to get a better picture from those who have more experience with this. For me I want for my tulpa to have complete freedom to choose for itself what it likes you know I don't want to be controlling in the least. I would be using Cheerilee as a base just to start with something but my only wonder is... If any of you who have made a "pony" tulpae or what have you. Did you come across any problems with using a pre-existing character as a base? Any tips you'd might recommend?

Anyways thanks for taking a look at this if you did so...

I am hoping to become active within' this community in the future :)

A Tale of Two Wolves

I've used pre-existing characters for Eva and Ada, and they're perfectly fine going in whatever form they feel comfortable to them. Usually, they stick to the base form a lot for their own reasons, I guess.

No identity crisis from them whatsoever over the years with them. As long as you're willing to let them deviate, not really a big issue honestly.

Okay I see what you mean there. I have asked other friends of mine who have made some. Many of them saying the same as well which is good information to know first hand. Secondly, I have also heard somewhere that it is recommended that if you do base your tulpa off a character that it is in certain cases better off to choose one that does not have much voice dialog? Now how true that maybe I have no idea but how I am seeing it is one should not really have to worry about anything. I'd think it'd be a bit selfish to want to be against deviation and a bit overbearing in my eyes. But I do appreciate the insight there a lot.

Oh, like pre-fetched voice dialogues right? Well, for me honestly, I used to have recordings of Eva's voice in particular from the video game her base was derived from. I used to listen to a 7 second loop constantly to get her voice in my head (and mixing it up with things like hypnosis and the whole mindset thing), but I always kept in the back in my mind that the voice would be a transient/temporary mode of progress for her.

After that, she's been gradually making her own distinct voice, and I'm planning to do the same for Ada. I think people suggest not to use pre-fetched voice dialogue for fear of parroting or some kind of doubt, I guess. Of course, it's you and your tulpa's call, but whatever you decide, just know they're not going to be bounded by just one voice unless they really want to.

Whatever the mind does to contribute to making their own distinction is inevitable if both of you want to, so go through the motions in whatever way you and your tulpa feel is pragmatic. You'll be fine, and you're not really the type of person to demand your tulpa to be the 100% embodiment of the pre-existing character based on your posts so far.

Who knows, whatever voice they deviate from may be something you like even more than the original.

That seems like a good way to get things started off though so another thanks towards the insight on that.

Definitely so very true that is. Once again thank you for the response allows more to think on too.

Since almost all my 6 tulpas were almost 100% based on existing anime characters (except my last one Helia) after all this time i must confess that so far there hasn't been problems regarding this, since the beginning i haven't felt a single resistance from this, by the contrary 4 of them even resisted a lot when i tried to change their voice and names (because they even have the exact name as the anime character and i was afraid of them having identify crisis) but i suspect they were the pre-existing toughtforms i "fed" when i watched the anime which seemed to start turning sentient by themselves as spontaneous tulpas maybe that's why they liked the characters so much as me, i am so glad that despite this they aren't trying to behave exactly like the characters or have the same personality as the characters they just have similar personalities as them, which is after all exactly what i wanted! (amazing i didn't even had to narrate them personality)

So i say if you don't feel resistance from them it should be ok, altough in my case i am not sure what will happen when they become fully independent, because that's when they will probably start to deviate more i am curious to know what they will do.

As you will see from my avatar, I'm based off Assassins Creed (well, sort of). I was told right from the start that I was a "look alike" not the actual character. No worse then it is for any other look-alike person.

Please consider supporting Tulpa.info.

Well that's new. Good choice, though, Cheerilee needs more love.

All I have to say is, GO FOR IT! You are aware of deviation and you're willing to accept it. You're fully ready for anything as you have read many guides by now, so let nothing stop you. ;)
