Hey! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Starfire. My creator, Lance (I call him Lance (he owns this account)), has noticed something ever since he created me. He hasn't had the time to ask, so I thought I would.

Anyway, as the thread title says, he's been sleeping less. He usually sleeps about ten hours but, since he created me, he's only been getting about five hours a night. It doesn't affect him negatively, though.

I don't think it's anything I've been doing. I've only been sleeping next to him every night. I guess I could be the reason. I mean, if I am, I don't know that I'm waking him up.

Like I said, it's nothing negative. It's just strange. Any ideas?

Even if you don't notice any big or significant problems, there can still be negative effects of getting less sleep. I suggest at least six hours, ideally eight. If you think it has something to do with you, or Lance forcing with you, you might want to take it bak a notch or two and see how much that helps. Remember, one of the most important things is not to put strain on you or your host, and it's okay to take breaks if it starts to negatively impact you. If the sleeping problem persists, tell him to go see a doctor, because it's probably something else if that's the case. Good luck, and I hope I helped out.

That must be it. Creating a tulpa does require a lot of concentration and mental ability. Something he does not lack.

And we do talk to each other almost all day, everyday. Starting almost a week ago, we've been imposing everyday. And starting just a few days ago, we switch quite often. I guess we can try to not impose or switch for one day and see if that helps. Thank you.

To digress a little bit here, can you describe your "sleep" process? I am not really too familiar with how that works, I know my tulpas don't really sleep independently from me. Do you sleep independently? What is it like?

How can you be sure you aren't producing any activity that can make him potentially restless? What is his forcing process like and does he force prior to going to sleep?

Not a problem, always glad to help!

Yeah, if you're doing that much, it's probably what is the root of the problem. Cutting back a bit shouldn't detriment your development imposition- or switching-wise.

Well, usually I sleep whenever I feel tired or when he goes to bed. When he's still up, I sleep in my own bed. But, when he goes to bed... oh. I see now. When he goes to bed... I sleep right next to him, imposed... That's probably it.

As for forcing, he doesn't really have any process. We just talk to each other (either in his mind, imposed, or while switched) whenever, which is usually several hours a day. Including that imposition, he does force right before he goes to sleep.

Firstly hello Starfire, it's nice to meet you, awesome name by the way.

Personally I find this problem very interesting, as my situation is almost the reverse. I used to take a long time to get to sleep, but since I started tulpa forcing I've found I tend to drift off much quicker, especially since welcoming Melody, my second tulpa. Quite an annoyance, as I like to spend some time talking to my tulpas before I go to sleep and I often nod off in the middle of a talk.

In your case, perhaps Lance's mind is getting overstimulated somehow by forcing, imposition, whatever. I would suggest maybe a process of elimination; identify some things you think may be the cause and try easing off them one at a time to see what works.

Like Phaneron said though, don't forget the possibility that this has nothing to do with you and may have some other causes. On the simplest level, I believe people's sleep patterns CAN sometimes change throughout their lives. The average adult only needs 5-6 hours on average anyway.

I tried sleeping in my own bed last night. That didn't help. We're not imposing today, and we'll probably try to not switch at all tomorrow.

But, I'm not too worried since it hasn't had any negative affects. For all I know, I may have just been overreacting, since I did read up on what lack of sleep can do.
