WizardMassacre November 24, 2014 November 24, 2014 Last night, I attempted working on my tulpa, and I (for some reason) always get frustrated while doing so (not the point, but maybe vital information). Anyway, after I finished, I decided to shower and go to bed, as I was exhausted. While preparing for the shower, I kept seeing black shapes out of the corner of my eyes. Now, I know this is normal while one is tired, but I've never experienced this before, not even when I've been on the verge of passing out (which wasn't the case last night). This continued while I was in the shower, and I almost had a panic attack IN THE SHOWER because I was so scared (really weird for me, even though I do have anxiety). Afterwards, I hopped into bed and tried to get to sleep as fast as I could. I also kept seeing white shapes in the corner of my vision with my eyes closed, which I find even stranger. Does anyone have any experience with what happened, and (possibly) a scientific explanation for it? Thank you. PS: I'm not saying this was my tulpa's doing; I'm not even sure if he's capable of doing that. I've only been making him for a few days, and it's not like I've started imposition yet. I'm including it just in case it is of any importance.

sushi November 25, 2014 November 25, 2014 Does anyone have any experience with what happened, and (possibly) a scientific explanation for it? Hypnagogic hallucinations. They're usually auditory -- the experience most people have is of someone calling their voice as they fall asleep. But there are visual ones too. A few weeks ago I had an experience where I saw someone standing over me. I told myself that he was a hallucination, looked back, and he was gone. From Wikipedia: Among the more commonly reported, and more thoroughly researched, sensory features of hypnagogia are phosphenes which can manifest as seemingly random speckles, lines or geometrical patterns Sounds to me like that's what you had. Why is it happening now, and never before? Well, that's always the case the first time it happens. But it might be caused by your forcing. I can't point you to a scientific study, but I've found that my own hypnagogic imagery gets far more intense when I'm regularly visualizing. I lived in a commune for a while where we were asked to visualize something several times a day. After a few weeks of this, every time I lay in bed and closed my eyes, I'd suddenly have a vision so realistic that I'd have to open my eyes just to make sure that they were closed. Near the end of my time there, I learned that I could turn that into a lucid dream. "Some things have to be believed to be seen." - Ralph Hodgson

A few weeks ago I had an experience where I saw someone standing over me. I told myself that he was a hallucination, looked back, and he was gone. That's probably what it was. I think I was just surprised that it was happening to me. I know I've seen weird shit when I was a kid (like shadows of people in my house), but I guess it just hadn't happened for awhile. Thank you for the theory.

Thank you for the theory. You sound rather young. Perhaps it was an ancestor who died before you were born. Or maybe it was someone who died in the area where you live. Or maybe it wasn't.
