I've been reading into the do's and don't's of tulpa development from >here<. It got me thinking about the controversy about tulpa sex, when is the point when it's ok? Now, before you say, no, I'm not making a tulpa for sex, I'm just doing in-depth research! Ok? Ok.

Now, when I mean "when is it ok?", I mean at what point in their development? I know that creating a tulpa for sexual reasons can make it psychologically damaged to the point where it will try to harm you. So say that the reasons were as standard (A best friend, a spiritual guide, etc.), so at what stage in their development would it safe? It's pretty obvious it's not safe in the early stages but there could be exceptions.

I don't really trust myself to give a correct answer, so I want the experts to weigh in. Just don't say that "I'm sick in the head" or anything like that, I'm just doing in-depth research. Besides, isn't this the questions and answers board?

Tulpae

Neon(Anthro): Working on... Something...

Mine had sexual thoughts from the beginning, so I don't really know if there's a timeframe.

Chance, an anthro husky, wolf or fox.

Birthdate September 20, 2014.

Sentient October 1, 2014.

In my opinion, when you are confident that they have the ability and independence to give you consent, that's when it's okay. Basically, be sure that they have the ability to say no if that's what they want.

[align=center]Even though my username is that of my tulpa, Quilten, my name is Phaneron, the host, who does all of the actual posting.

What about certain methods some people use to develop their tulpa, like the JDBar method? The JDBar method encourages puppeting and parroting, so how would this affect the tulpa's consent? Especially if they are not sentient to give the consent, with or without parroting.

I would think that if they're not independent enough to say no, then it's too early.

Markus is the tulpa, and I don't really have anything else to say.

Good point. Really good point. But think about it for a second, what if we know that the tulpa is not sentient and only do it once in it's development? Would that really be enough to destroy the tulpa's personality? What if it was sentient but not vocal, how would that change it? (I just like asking questions and pushing boundaries.)

This entirely depends on the person. Again, tulpas are not a mass-produced product, if the person isn't mentally stable then the tulpa won't be either.

If they're not sentient I'm not entirely sure. I would imagine, though, that if one were to do that with their tulpa before they're sentient that the host would probably end up doing it again... but if it was just a one time thing I don't think it would be enough to completely destroy their personality. I might affect them a lot, a little, or not at all. It all depends on the tulpa. As for sentient but non-vocal tulpas, that goes back to my previous post. If they're unable to give a definite yes or no then I'd say it's too early.

I would say once they're aware enough to give consent, it's fine to do it if you both want to. As for JDBar's method or other parroting-based methods, I would say once they demonstrate independence. Independence will most likely form slowly, but you'll recognize at least some responses or actions as pretty definitely not parroted.

My blog :: Time expectations are bad (forcing time targets are good though)

When both Tulpa and host are mature enough for it.

Tulpa-wise, I'd think it would be pretty late in development, maybe somewhere around a 10-14 month range? Sentience is always a must.

Host-wise, it's harder to pinpoint as there are more factors, but I'd say it's on the older (17+?) side as well.
