Guest Anonymous July 10, 2012 July 10, 2012 I wouldn't say Wilfred is a tulpa. The actual dog is always there when he talks to him (I think), so it's more just an extreme delusion. Regardless, Wilfred would be a bad-ass tulpa.
ThatOneGuy July 10, 2012 July 10, 2012 I think that Wilfred is a tulpa anchored to a real dog's form. But then again, I think he may be something more along the lines of a schizo hallucination, like Tyler Durden. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
Captain Nemo July 10, 2012 July 10, 2012 I can't find the exact quote, but Watterson said what Hobbes was depended on who was looking at him, and if they were to see him as a real animal, that's what he would be to them. Probably not Calvin's tulpa, given that, though I guess Calvin was the only one to choose to see him like that.
