The Shadow Knight January 15, 2015 January 15, 2015 Well in a previous thread someone mentioned Anapana Meditation technique for Active Forcing. I want to know if anyone else has any other techniques for Active forcing and how do you do them? I'm also having difficulty with Anapana Meditation and active forcing, am I supposed to focus on the breathing and Tulpaforce at the same time or am I supposed to calm down first and then tulpaforce or what?
Linkzelda January 15, 2015 January 15, 2015 You can use the concept of image streaming that I made a guide here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1guub6JF0OGVheUPzddtMyZKHqnrcnuWLYufwGhc3Fmc/edit?pli=1 And if isn't active enough for you, then I don't know what is. :P 7 Hours of Active Forcing 8 Hours & 29 Minutes of Active Forcing 10 Hours of Active Forcing
sushi January 15, 2015 January 15, 2015 Anapana is like a warmup for forcing. Like if you stretch before exercise, you're less likely to get cramps. In the same way, if you do anapana before forcing, you're less likely to lose focus. In the meditation tradition I've been taught in, they teach vipassana meditation -- but because it's an advanced technique, they only teach it after three and a half days of anapana. The idea is that with any less anapana, you're not going to be focused enough to handle vipassana. And after the course, they suggest you do anapana any time you feel like you're not focused enough to do vipassana. I don't think that you need to do several days of anapana before forcing, but it will help if you do it any time you don't feel focused enough to force. You don't need to do it every time. There may be certain times of day when you're focused enough to force without it. (For me, when I wake up early in the morning, I'm very focused because my mind is still too tired to really wander all over the place.) And of course anytime you can't sleep, if you do anapana, you'll find yourself more rested in the morning than if you just lie there tossing and turning, or watch TV all night.
