Guest July 11, 2012 July 11, 2012 I've noticed that many people are claiming signs of sentience very early on in their tulpa creation process, usually between 5-15 hours in. So I was wondering, is this actually possible, or are people just stupid?

Everyone is stupid, so asking if someone is stupid...is stupid, therefore you are stupid also, and therefore normal if you are like everyone else (if 'normal' is taking into account 'majority'). If you're stupid, and thus normal, than people being stupid and noticing sentience early are normal.
Captain Nemo July 11, 2012 July 11, 2012 I think the standard "100+ hours for a finished tulpa" idea may be wrong/misleading. What if that only reason it takes that long is because we believe it does? Also, if somebody spent that 15 hours doing nothing but narration, I'd bet good money they'd have a sentient tulpa. Though, to be fair, that's not what most people do.

FigN01 July 11, 2012 July 11, 2012 You could conceivably spend a lot of time doing straight character creation without even knowing about tulpas. Then, if you knew your character through and through, tulpaforcing it would be a lot easier and possibly shorter.

Guest Anonymous July 11, 2012 July 11, 2012 It's absolutely possible. Although there are general constraints on both extremes of the spectrum, it's possible to get sentience within 5-15 hours. I'd be very suspicious if not completely doubtful if someone said they got vocalization within 5-15 hours, though. I personally got sentience at 7 hours in. Although I spent about a month constantly thinking about my tulpa and making sure it was how I wanted it, which could have began sentience before I technically began tulpaforcing. To put strict limits on something as powerful and little understood as the human mind is simply foolish.
