So I decided to create a tulpa after doing much research on tulpas and forcing. I thought I would also post how things are going with the process of creating my tulpa, since I'm fifteen and there were many people advising against it. I have done my research. and feel I know enough, and I'm mature enough to start the tulpa creation process!

What I have planed so far:[/b]']

Name of tulpa: Pulse

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Traits/Personality/skills:

-Kind/caring

-trustworthy

-Helpful

-Smart

-Understanding

-Strong (mentally; I think it will help with intellectual growth... maybe :P)

-Dependable

-Responsible

-Protective

-Fun to be around

-Good at learning (picking things up)

-Good at calculations (math)

-Good with other people(s)/beings/entities/others

Shape: Wolf humanoid

So at first I tried forcing her image, thinking it would be easy since I day dream all the time, and since I was... well for as long as I can remember :P. Well that wasn't the case :(. So after a while I decided to try forcing her traits, but I found that I couldn't do that because I "didn't know" where to put them. So I concluded I needed to see her form to be able to force traits. (I know that I should have done one or the other but... owell :P). After finding my pitfall with having trouble visualizing I started searching the internet to find a way to help me visualize. After about... 10 minutes I found what I was looking for, however I can't find the link again so I can't link it (though I do think it may have been on this forum).

The solution was to write down every single detail you wanted to visualize. So I started with the face (I have a reference image so I can look at that to help me get details). I have two and a half pages full of writing on the details of her (Pulse's) face. And all the details I wrote down, I can now visualize :)! So I'm going to continue doing this for her whole body, and then read and re-read it until I can visualize her whenever I please. After I get the visualization down I will move on to her traits/skills.

I will keep this updated as much as possible :) (So a post on what's going on every day or two... I'm not very busy of the late lolz)

EDIT: I found the link for the visualization stuff :)

The technique you use for visualisation is pretty weird and interesting at the same time. I wonder why this works better for since you're already experienced with daydreaming. I also wonder who might came up with this in the first place. I understand that it is helpful to have some image to remember yourself about certain aspects (since you can't take a photo), but I was pretty unaware that words work for some people aswell in visualisation matters.

About the trait thing: Well I have an idea what could work for you. You're probably aware that you could feed your tulpa symbolically with the traits, like with a spoon or something. If you can't visualize your tulpa yet you could simply point the spoon to a place where you want your tulpa to sit, even though you can't see it. Just think "My tulpa is sitting there" and feed it. You don't need a reaction from your tulpa for it to work.

However, good luck with your creating process!

Tulpa: Alice

Form: Realistic Humanoid/Demonic Creation

She may or may not talk here, depends on her.

I found it better to have a "YOLOOOOOOOOOO" approach in making a tulpa, as guides aren't molds that every person. You might have gone a bit overkill, but that's your decision, so do the best you can with the cards you choose.

I find it funny how you made a concentrated effort to appear mature and reasonable in your earlier posts here despite your age, but here you have an all-caps title with a bunch of exclamation marks. Not to say you shouldn't title your PR however you wish, but the contrast is amusing.

I'm not sure why this works for me, since I do daydream a lot. However I never have to "try" to daydream. However visualizing Pulse is harder for me for some unknown reason, but this writing all the details down method is really working, really well.

I'm just super excited for this, and it's bound to be a interesting journey of sorts :)!

EDIT: I wanted to see how mentally old I actually am, so I went and took a bunch of "mental age tests" just for fun :)

this one says my mental age is 25

and this one says my mental age is 500 lol :)

EDIT2: I don't think I'm "trying" to sound older and more mature than I am. That is how I type on all forums I am on. (And YouTube comments and other sites).

Good luck on your tulping adventures. Cheers to your new wolfdoggiedudething

This is going to be a smaller update, since I didn't do a lot today.

I finished writing down the details for Pulse's face, which ended up being three pages in length. I will be writing down the details for the rest of her body over the next four days, and I hope to be done Friday. I'm expecting the *detail writings* to be about ten pages in total, so three for her face and then another seven for the rest of her body. (This is all estimates, except for the three pages for her face).

I'm going to try forcing tonight (just her face) like she is in my peripheral vision looking over my shoulder. As I day go about other tasks (like brushing my teach ect..) I'll add a edit later, telling how this forcing goes :).

EDIT:

When I force while reading the details I wrote down, and looking at the picture I have I can visualize Pulse just fine. However when I try to visualize her without the *detail writings* or the picture I find myself getting distracted with my daydreams, OR (the more common one) I visualize another form for Pulse, which has zero details from my *detail writings* and the picture. I'm not sure if this is a sub-level of sentience from Pulse, telling me that this isn't the form she wants(which I doubt since I have only worked on her for about a hour in all over two days), or my subconscious telling me that the image I have for Pulse isn't the one I actually want (subconscious). I'm not sure, so a little help would be greatly appreciated :). Another thing to note is that when I visualize the other form for pulse, I can only visualize the face.

I'm not sure what I should do with her form and visualizing it since I "can't" make up my mind.

I will also be posting this question in my "questions I have" thread

http://community.tulpa.info/thread-general-question-i-have?

I can't decide whether to post this here or in your Q&A thread since you've posted the above "EDIT" bit in both. I'll post it here since it's advice, and the Q&A thread is convoluted enough that it's not reasonably going to be found by other people with the same issue.

Since you say you daydream a lot, I'm guessing your visualization is fine and you're getting distracted because there's too much going on in your head, not because poor visualization quality is making it easier to distract you.

* It sounds like what you're doing is passive forcing, paying attention to your tulpa throughout the day as you do other things. This is good, and really helps in bringing a tulpa to life. One simple tip to help remind you is to tie a string around your finger or draw some shape you associate with her on your hand. I do suggest doing some active forcing too though. That's taking a break from doing other things and focusing entirely on your tulpa for a bit.

* Firstly you'd do well to learn to quiet your mind. This applies mostly to active forcing at first, but the technique and effects from it apply to passive as well. What I suggest is essentially meditation, but don't be intimidated, this sort isn't very hard to do. Find someplace quiet and comfortable you can relax and won't be disturbed, but don't get so comfortable that you'll just fall asleep. Pay attention to your body. Try to feel where muscles are tense and let that tension out. It can help to focus on one body part at a time, tense it up as tight as you can for 5 seconds and then release it, letting the tension flow out. Let your breath fall into a slower, regular pattern like it probably does when you're getting ready to sleep.

When you're pretty well relaxed and chill feeling, close your eyes and focus on the feeling of your breath entering and leaving your body. It's not the most interesting thing to focus on, but it's always there, and steady enough to lull you into a less distractible state of mind. Thoughts and daydreams will come up. This is okay. You're not trying to block them out. Just wordlessly acknowledge that a thought or image is there, but don't pay attention to it. Keep your focus on your breathing and it will fade. If you suddenly realize that you've been distracted for the past while, try not to get frustrated. It happens to everyone sometimes, and frustration will make the whole thing harder. Just direct your focus back to your breathing.

It might take a few tries before it starts really working right, but you should get a lot fewer distractions. When you have a bit of a feel for it, shift your focus away from your breathing and onto the mental image of your tulpa.

* For active forcing, I suggest visualizing your tulpa either against a black nothingness, an otherwise empty room, or in a calm and peaceful landscape like a beach, meadow or by a stream. Try different things. A simple nothingness can either eliminate the distraction of a different background and make visualization easier; or it can make the scene so boring and your tulpa look out of place enough that good visualization will be harder.

Thanks, I'll have to try this :)
