I know that this is only tangentially related to tulpa, but a lot of people seem to like to use relaxation techniques before tulpaforcing to concentrate better. There were some good inductions posted in the hypnosis thread, and I think that it would be nice to have a central thread for posting techniques, tones, hypnotic inductions, and other tools that help induce relaxation and concentration. So that's it. Post away.

Personally I ain't much drawn to isochronic beats. As a claustrophile there isn't anything more insulated and enjoyable than some binaural tones streaming through comfortable headphones underneath a thick blanket on a rainy day. It's very good.

One tactic I enjoy practising before a tulpaforcing session is thinking about surreal and abstract things so I can mentally prepare whilst unclogging all the distracting shit from my stream of thought. Like, when I remember a specific song (like Crown Shell by Sun Araw) I imagine a worldly alchemist becoming a wellspring of tremendous might after discovering the philosopher's stone. Or I think of cosmic eagles breaking through Earth's atmosphere only to softly land on the ground miraculously intact. I even try to visualise the days of the Roman Empire and how its various rulers exerted unique control over vast swaths of land.

I also enjoy a slow, savoury smoke before mellowing out to some positive thoughts. If you ingest tobacco, do yourself a favour and buy a good pipe and some fragrant, tasty stuff to go with it. If you're cheap (like me) you could purchase some Black & Milds (if you can't find them by name, look for wood-tipped cigarillos of mid-grade quality). As for the relaxing thoughts themselves I think of how nice it'll be to spend quality time with my tulpa, or I think of what I've accomplished on that day (like cleaning the house, finishing school work or other tasks I've set out to complete).

In conclusion, I find that abstract items of certain relevance or inward manifestation calm me down and set me up for a familiar, soothing meditative state. Find something appeasing and subtly incorporate it into your relaxation period. Test your imagination and see what's swirling in that mound of protein you got in your head. It may just take the load off.

This life of games and diligent trust,

it's the things we do and the things we must.

I'm now tired of being cussed,

so go sleep forever, end to dust.

Hadn't thought about smoking a nice (or cheap) cigar before sessions to calm the nerves, actually. I think I'll try that. I have a hookah, but I think it would take too long to set up and tear down before a session. Maybe I could puff at it while I'm forcing...

I tried self-hypnosis. Not much to report other than numb hands.

Psychedelic trance is good for a no-mind state, but it's not good for trying to concentrate on any one thing.

Ambient trance is incredible for visualization work. Look up Vibrasphere.

Tulpatones don't do anything for me personally.

Darkness helps with concentration.

Something soft with no pressure over your eyes helps tremendously with concentration (e.g. handkerchief).

Over-ear headphones help with concentration. Better than IEMs or on-ear headphones.

The best position is laying down with the upper back in a sitting position.

Wonderlands are good for immersion.

Focusing on one very small part of your tulpa often helps get you into that groove where you can go for long stretches of visualization without intrusive thoughts. For example, I focus on a scale on Octavia's snout.

Oh fuck year dude! I got a hookah too! Although I went economic and bought a tiny jar with a single hose, it does its job. Ain't nothing like a cool summer night, kicking back to some mint chocolate shisha. The quantity of smoke it produces is immense.

Anyways, if it doesn't distract you, hold the end of the hose in your mouth from time to time and puff to your comfort (that is, if you can tulpaforce whilst keeping the hookah at a safe distance). If used sparingly, it can introduce a thick, flavourful treat to your tulpa rendering sessions.

Another thing I forgot to mention is focusing on specific minutiae. You know, when you're kept up at night by dripping water or a ticking clock? Bothers the Hell out of you. Yet I find myself tuning in to the song of early morning birds or the rattling hum of a decent A/C unit. These small noises set some sort of rhythm that can be exploited for conscious mental exploration and consistent meditation. Like a metronome that times musical progression in an instrument.

I already talked about much more than I feel like re-typing in a previous thread, but meditation is your best bet. Go read this thread for my explanation on the best way to meditate before a session. Even if you don't think it'll work, it takes 5 minutes to try.
