Tulpas and imagination.

  1. 1. Tulpas and imagination.

    • Tulpamancy is actually imagination as a whole.
    • Tulpamancy is imagination in the sense you discuss, those thoughts originate from our minds in all cases.
    • Tulpamancy is not related to this type of imagination in any way or shape.

I haven't had time to read all of the posts here yet (family issues), but finally thought of a way to put into words my opinion on this.

I was extremely surprised to see the results of the poll when I voted and saw the results so far. It makes no sense to me how anyone can vote that tulpamancy is not related to imagination. Creativity, sure, you can make a tulpa and lack creativity, but everyone has imagination, and it is (at least from where I stand) inseparable from tulpamancy. If not indispensable to everyday life. One could not preform mental math without the imagination to process the concepts and imagery required.

Creating an idea, is basically the first step of tulpamancy, and it also happens to be the definition of imagination.

I will get around to reading all of these, but for now I wanted to put my two cents out there. :P

My host and I think it is a misguided delusion to attempt to separate tulpamancy from active imagination both conscious or subliminal. We think the author of this OP is wishful thinking that tulpas are somehow pure and distinct from imagination. Clearly, at least to us, they are not.

I have to point out that he didn't say anything of the sort in this thread, said the opposite really. The middle poll option is actually the one agreeing with his post, not the bottom.

Additionally, the process of active imagination is consistently present in any and all developmental stages (personality forcing, visualization, parroting, etc...), yet some people completely shun imagination as being anything related to their tulpas. This goes to show that imagination does play a certain role.

Finally, it would be hard to explain the conception of a sentient entity in one's mind without attributing any importance to imagination, be it conscious or those thoughts that appear as strange and sudden to us, but are actually us. Someone could actually legitimately (not in the sake of tulpamancy and its image, but in the sake of that person am I saying those things) take those thoughts, put a sort of nametag on them and interact with it. Imaginative processes would develop things from there

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

"A lot of people seem to confuse 'unconscious' imagination with tulpamancy."

I think he was implying that a completed or fully realized tulpa is not imagination. We disagree. Imagination is still very much involved. The "difference between a tulpa and imagination" is that there is no difference, they are made of imagination and sustained by imagination. So Melian and I voted for number one. We think the poll was made to get just the results he did from people who think a tulpa is somehow outside of the imagination or beyond it (real).

Every tulpa has frame and template of belief and expectation!

And when they saperat, tulpa can take some thoughts and feelings from his host in his capasaty but nor all of them !

In mothalogies we can find the framework of the tulpas!
