Zandros May 15, 2016 May 15, 2016 Is there any statistics of rapidity of success based on age of the host? Or, are there too many variables to account for who is or isn't successful? I'm 99% sure that an adult may be more successful (in the form of speed of creation), but we have to consider that depending on the events of one's life up until that point it may be different. For example, I feel that a thirteen year old who has experienced loss and knows the weight of a life and has done research can create and maintain a tulpa as well as a 30 year old. That being said however, I'm 14 so I am biased, and I'm currently creating a tulpa. I'm only on day 2, so I don't have experience to speak from - take my answer with a very, VERY large grain of salt.
Vos May 15, 2016 May 15, 2016 I don't think that we have any statistics for it, but we've had plenty of success stories from both adults and children in this community. Younger people are more likely to be creative and believe in their tulpa, and older people tend to have more patience; both of those help, but they're not exclusive to any age group. Most of the time, the people that are unsuccessful in creating tulpas are the ones who either give up or have a poor mindset.
Linkzelda May 15, 2016 May 15, 2016 I'm not sure if there's a correlation with ageism and success, as how one tries to structure for an orderly mind in this will vary. And something you might see is just how much of an experiential fallback a person has may play a role in accomplishments. But even if a person has all sorts of accolades for themselves, it becomes useless if they can't apply themselves anyway. Some may say that younger individuals aren't as mentally constrained, and have a "swing for the fences" mentality while older individuals may be caught in a "lose-win" mentality, but like others have stated, it's not like those mentalities are exclusive to their "should-be" respective groups. For all we know, there may be younger individuals that transition out of that lose-win mentality that may restrict them in some way, and have assurance with fallback with swinging for the fences until there's success in their eyes, and vice versa for older individuals.
