Chaos: Been a long, long time since I was last on here, my mind has been...not in a good state during that time. So, here's my question.

For a long while, I thought that anything is possible in the mind. Like, say, changing the personality traits of my tulpa or fast forwarding someone's perception of time so they experience hundreds of years in just a few minutes. There also might be some dimension traveling too, during that time.

My question is this, are these possible within my imagination? Because my tulpas think that those don't really work on them, but I have to wonder if they do.

As long as it stays internal in the mind, like a dream or fantasy, I see no limits. When you start applying your imagination to the real physical world, like trying to fly out of your fifth story apartment window, well then you might discover some limits. That being said, I suppose a person could mentally create artificial limits to their imagination (for instance I can't see to fly or levitate in my dreamscape, even with my dream magic).

I suppose there might be some limits related to memory, cognitive ability (intelligence) visualization talent and things like that.

But you can do a hell of a lot with just imagining in your mind and believing it and meditation and hypnotism and visualization and all that stuff and junk.

Yeah, I figured stuff in the physical world has its limits. I'm just worried that the possibilities in my mind are endless and that my tulpas are suffering because of it.

Why would that cause your tulpas to suffer? Also, remember you can make artificial boundaries, like I said, like borders or walls or something.

Uh...let's just say that changing one's personality to be hateful towards everything that they love is one thing I don't want...

Oh are you saying you're are worried your tulpa will change your personality? If you read a lot on this forum, you will find most would consider that possibility highly unlikely. The vast majority of tulpamancers have reported only positive effects, such as being more happy, or mostly positive effects, and I don't recall reading any accounts of a host's own personality changing anywhere.

No, that's not it. I'm not worried for myself, I'm worried that they'll find their own personalities changed into something they absolutely loathe. Like, one of mine dreads being a psychopath and I'm worried that, without limits, he could turn into one if someone in my head tries to change it personally.

OH

Well, there have been accounts of tulpas having personality deviations that were not necessarily good ones. Then it is up to the host to help the tulpa work things out. Just like any living mind, a tulpa apparently can have emotional difficulties. But I don't think such things are common from what I have been reading.

I myself am a self centered narcissist and attention seeker and kinda emotional. (I'm working on that...)

If he doesn't want it to happen, then it probably won't. Simplistic, but generally true.

See, while it is true that "anything" can happen in the headspace, most headpeople have an internal logic unique to them that stabilizes what they, individually, experience. Personality-wise, that tends to mean sticking to the same personality traits once they're established. There are exceptions, but the very fact that your tulpa doesn't want to "be a psychopath" means it probably won't happen. It's part of their personality not to be "a psychopath" and there's really no reason to think that would change. Definitely not without something making it change.

Why is your guy worried about that in particular? Is this a creepypasta thing? If it is, get that stuff the f out of your head. It's poisonous to think your tulpa is capable of that sort of thing. Trust and love your tulpas, and you'll all be just fine.

Here's the important thing: your interior reality is really, really affected by what you and your headmates think can and should happen. Belief becomes self-fulfilling prophecy, and obsessing about possible bad scenarios tends to be what makes those things happen. So seriously, stop worrying about it, because circling around and around the same thing can lead to some weird and alarming intrusive thoughts. Not harmful thoughts... not unless you think they are anyway. But alarming, and that's something you don't need.

My host has an anxiety problem, where she starts circling around worst-case scenarios like this... so I can understand why "anything is possible" might be scary. But seriously, it's okay. If you and your headmates find yourselves spiraling around these worst case scenarios, find a distraction. Think of the best case scenarios instead. Find a different topic to get excited about. Don't dwell on this stuff, because it's that very dwelling that is going to cause any problems, on the slight chance there are problems. Work together to beat the fear. You can do it.

Yes, "anything" can happen, but that "anything" is not infinite, and it's especially bound by the rules of your interior logic and subjective experience. So you're okay. Trust your tulpas. If something unexpected comes up, you can work on it together, as a team.

Thank you, I needed this. It isn't so much of a creepypasta thing where they intend to hurt me, more like others that want to hurt the tulpas I created. But I think it'll be okay now. I'll keep your advice in mind. Again, thanks.
