Guest applesauce99 July 28, 2012 July 28, 2012 Just a general question here, but has anyone ever imposed their tulpa to only 'exist' in mirrors or reflections?
Dreamless Window July 28, 2012 July 28, 2012 For a moment, I thought you were going to ask if someone had imposed a mirror as a tulpa.
Guest applesauce99 July 28, 2012 July 28, 2012 Just for funsies, Phi. Like you look at mirrors and see your tulpa, or even reflections of reflections of your tulpa. Just a random thought I had.
Phi July 28, 2012 July 28, 2012 How is limiting your tulpa like that fun? Have 'fun' carrying a small mirror with you everywhere you go.
Josh July 28, 2012 July 28, 2012 Don't see why this would be impossible. Strange , but very possible.
hakase July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 I can actually see this being somewhat useful if you need to keep your tulpa an extreme secret, since you would be able to physically summon them whenever you want by pulling out some small mirror or reflective object. Although for the general population of the forums I feel like it would just be a bit of a gimmick. As far as the tulpa itself goes, I'm not sure how they'd feel about being stuck in a mirrorland. Maybe they would feel the same way about this as they do to being imaginary, and just accept it as the way they were created? "Give a man a Truth, and he will think for a day. Pleeb July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 Reminds of what Jake is doing; he's narrating to a toy (well, a charm, or necklace or something, now) until it's sentient. Spoiler An image in a signature behind a hidden tag!

FigN01 July 29, 2012 July 29, 2012 A friend that I mentioned tulpas to when I first started said that he wanted to do exactly this for his own purposes of character creation in writing stories. He basically didn't want to have any of his characters following him around, and just thought it would be a cool idea to be able to talk to them directly in a way that didn't incorporate the tulpa into his daily life. He didn't keep that up regularly and just abandoned the whole practice pretty quickly, I think because he didn't put much emotional investment into the process. I don't think he would have cared to either.
