I can see the cards a little clearer when I am the one to project and Tulpa holds them. But I am too tired to do a full test. It takes more out of me.

I don't always agree with Phil Hine... but when I do, it's regarding Self-Love.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention his work regarding sigil magick. Lots of interesting ideas to be sure.

In any case- High Priest Solune, Disciple of Order, reporting for duty! Sorry I'm late, lads and lasses.

While you're reading my post, I'd like to point out that Discordians do not make a distinction between Chaos and Order.

We believe that Order and Disorder are the two halves that together form Chaos. Chaos is everything, with The Void as its "True" opposite.

Insofar as anything is "True" as opposed to being "true". But capitalization is a matter best left to Popes- which I am not at the moment.

In conclusion, Libya is a land of contrast.

Thank you.

Welcome to the thread. I'd vote spelling over capitalization myself.

In regards to Tulpa001's experiment, I was thinking if your host can read them while you hold them, that would also be interesting. I don't want you two to over do anything though if it's too much on you.

Preemptively based on my beliefs if she can see them better than you I'd guess it's because she has a physical form. This is my personal belief on why Servitors can interact more with the real world. Servitors are usually bound by a physical sigil to a meaningful object while Tulpa are not.

However binding a Tulpa to a physical object would also make the Tulpa vulnerable to things affecting the object something along the lines of a voodoo doll and may require the host to have the object to interact. Also binds are broken with fire so that could be bad if it doesn't work.

Haha, not to be melodramatic, but I was surprised to find any name that could dethrone Peter Carroll as the seminal writer of chaos magick!

This is interesting, because I've been working on a paradigm based on chess pieces. I've made a sigil for a pawn and knight and castle and bishop and all. When I think about how they move on the board, though, that is...how the sigil effect the world...I think it's not only the structure of the board itself but the rules. We can see this a lot in chess variants like Alice Chess (chess played on two boards with rules for teleporting pieces between them) and Behemoth Chess (one piece that can't be captured and is not on anyone's side, called the Behemoth, moves one square in any direction at the roll of an eight-sided die...and if there's a piece on either player's side that occupies where it's supposed to move, that piece is gone.)

What I've intuited is that the world as a board to play on does shift through various rules, enough to be chaotic, but because it's not void then perhaps there's some order to it? What do you think? (I've also thought about carrying sort of chess piece charms around: pawns for increased intuition, knights for breaking up sticky cloying paradigms, queen or castle for protection, bishop as a wand...the king piece to me just is, doesn't do anything, but does represent a flux of rules rather than the void because the king is sort of the beacon of playing to any order at all.)

Chess is more just a systemic aesthetic, though, than some overarching philosophy...so please do feel free to say if all this magic systems rambling of mine manages to be boring. xD

I was thinking about it and a Tulpa could be bound to the physical body by a tattoo. Since anything deadly happening to the body would tend to mean trouble for them anyways it wouldn't be too big a worry as a physical object. This is all just blind conjecture atm though.

In my interpretation of Bluefluke's guide, he thinks that if you do not bind a mindform to an object, it binds automatically to your body. This is in line with my intuitive understanding of magic as well.

Speaking of, do you have a second text on chaos that you would recommend?

There's the whole Billy Brujo youtube channel. He practices Chaos Magick with a lot of comedy thrown in.

Bluefluke has a few books he recommends but as you'll find opinions differ from person to person.

As for binding, I'd argue that it binds to the soul instead or something similar, not to the physical body. ;) But everyone's opinion differs. Some Discordians actually argue that you should get into frequent debates about what you believe.

I'm not very well read when it comes to Chaos Magick, so I've never heard of him. But I'll definitely look him up.

Phil Hine just happens to be one guy that I do know of.

The Discordian bible doesn't have much magick in it. It's mostly just satire and warped Taoism.

In the beginning there was nothing, and he was named Void. After a while this nothingness got bored and said, "ah fuck it.. I'm not getting any younger, I should probably have some kids or something." And lo, he gave birth to two beautiful daughters. The first, Eris, was born pregnant with all of creation. She soon gave birth, and was overjoyed with existence. The second, named Aneris, was born barren. Aneris quickly grew jealous of Eris' children... and decided that if she could not give birth, she would take them away from Eris to spite her. So it was that Aneris created entropy (and death with it). To this day, Eris creates stuff and Aneris steals it away from her. It is an eternal argument between sisters and we are the poor sods caught in the middle of it.

Many people mistakenly think that rules = order. This is not always so. Eris has created many rules of her own for kicks and giggles. There is only one True law that represents order. That law is Entropy: that all things must eventually end. For if Eris had her way, nothing would ever end.

There's more to that story (and several other versions of it (all of which are accurate))... but that's for another comment since this one is already far too long.

P.S. I think the chess aesthetic is very fitting.

P.S.S. Don't feel too bad for Eris... she's kind of a bitch, and had it coming if you ask me. Not that I don't love her *looks around nervously* heh heh...

The Principia encourages rifts within the Discordian community. To remind us that opinions, like underwear, should be changed regularly.

Any of you made use of sigils or other tech to try to promote your Tulpamancy?

...Now that you specifically mention it, We used an egyptian tablet to split ourselves apart to reduce blending. Although, not a sigil per se. It was super effective, in fact too much because we couldn't feel each other. So we smashed it.

Later, we rebuilt it with modifications.

A lot of tulpamancy relies on symbolism to strengthen intended actions. Symbolism is personal, and does not translate between systems. So, putting it in the guides is discouraged.
