lately I've been focusing on my tulpa's vocality, and i came across something sort of strange. when i listen hard, i can hear him sometimes, but it ends up being more difficult than it should be, because it sounds like he is whispering. i thought about it, and judging by the way it sounds, it almost seems like its because i haven't been working on a voice for him. he sounds like he either has no voice, causing a whispery speech, or like its me whispering a reply. i am wondering, in your experiences with your tulpa, have you had a similar experience, and if so, how did you get past it? did you need to develop their voice, or was it a matter of just practicing and hearing them easier?

Developing a voice could potentially be beneficial, but it's certainly optional, and I'm sure that your tulpa's voice would strengthen either way. It's not unheard of for the tulpa's voice to be identical to the host's near the beginning, and this kind of thing always goes away with time.

To some extent, developing their voice is separate from developing their vocality. A lot of tulpas communicate more with mindvoice than voice-voice in-mind. You and your tulpa can develop their voice-voice that accompanies their mindvoice whenever and however you want. But I'm sure most people do them at the same time. Honestly most people probably get into the habit of always communicating that way period, though I personally know that my tulpas can communicate in pure mindvoice without their actual voice if they want. They do it to sort of supplement our actual discussions sometimes because it can get across concepts and the like they're trying to share better than words, ie they couldn't or didn't want to think of how to word it.

The way I'm using the word mindvoice might get mixed up with tulpish here, but I don't really like that term anyways. Truth is everyone uses mindvoice to mean a little more or little less than everyone else.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
