Luminesce March 2, 2018 March 2, 2018 Yeah, I was just thinking that while reading over my post, that maybe DID has greater emphasis on separate identities than I'm used to (as my first experiences in some books and such was with "Multiple Personality Disorder"). Basically what I was saying is some people with DID may consider their alternate personalities only personalities and not identities. Meanwhile, some cases of DID may very obviously have personalities that consider their identities totally separate. If it's still DID (a Disorder) at that point, it's a case of unhealthy plurality. But if the person, despite blackouts and separate memories, still feels as if they are just "them" either way, I think they should be allowed to feel that way. If I'm not mistaken, the general goal of treatment for people with MPD (and so I assume DID) is to merge the personalities back to just one, or make the non-primary ones dissipate. In the case of completely unintentional alter identities, as unfortunate as it is I believe the original/primary identity of the body has the right to decide if they want to remain just one person or acknowledge the alters as separate. But I'm fully aware a lot of people are like, the equivalent of pro-abortion or pro-life with this subject, and since I'm pro-abortion the fact that I'm pro-dissipation in scenarios where the primary identity didn't want alters/other systemmates could be heavily related. So, I'm willing to acknowledge the "pro-life" side to plurality as reasonable too. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. jean-luc March 2, 2018 March 2, 2018 pro-abortion Generally it's called pro-choice right? The woman has the right to choose vs. the fetus has a right to live? That could work with this too, tulpa has a right to exist vs. host has a right to choose, or something. Although, what if there are two roughly equivelent identies? So they are both in control for roughly half the time, nobody knows who the "original" is. Then what? Stats is back: https://stats.jean-luc.org/ I don't visit as often as I used to. Luminesce March 2, 2018 March 2, 2018 Pro-choice? Yeah, that sounds better. It's not like it's something I keep up with. I only ever thought "pro-life" sounded kind of biased, while "pro-abortion" to me meant pro-having-the-choice-for-it-to-be-an-option. And yeah, I did think of that scenario. I said the primary/original identity should have the choice, but there are times where the original identity may no longer even be around - at that point it's simply an internal matter they have to sort out themselves.
