Purlox August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 (Please read the whole post and think about this before you dismiss this as another metaphysical BS) We all think that the only way we can gain information is by our senses or by conclusions drawn from what we gained by our senses. But what if there is other way to know stuff? There has been few reports of people that were able to get knowledge about the world by other means (e.g. by OoBE), so I thought it would be a good idea to test this. How do we test this? As was said in other thread, we think that OoBE actually puts you into-tulpa state. So we could test this with our tuppers (or ourselves if you know how to switch) by telling someone to take a piece of paper and writing something on it in a room nearby, but the person has to tell you in which room it is. The text written there should be at least 2 sentences. After it is written you should get a sign and you should tell your tulpa, that was up until now around you or in wonderland, to go and look at the paper and you should write down what the tulpa saw there. Then go to the room where the other paper and compare. Is there anything similar at all? For this to work it would best that you don't know who is making the paper to remove the possibility of guessing the text that will be easier due to knowing the person's personality, but that can be hard to achieve. And also it would be good if you are open minded and you aren't biased towards any of the results especially to it not working this way, because that could potentially make your subc block the information to go by your belief.
Guest Amaurus August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 I think an easier method would be to get a screen to show a random number and face said screen away from yourself. Once the number is generated, (which normally you wouldn't know) have your tulpa guess it. Write what the tulpa says down then look at the screen.
Purlox August 31, 2012 Author August 31, 2012 That's also a good suggestion, but it's much easier to guess this way unless it has some huge spread like from 0 to 100 000 000.
Pleeb August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 I like this idea. Tulpae are able to go into other rooms, walk around the city, or do other things away from their host (refer to the OBE topic), and it's been hypothesized what is going on behind the scenes when things happen; I think this test would be a neat one just to try, and I know there are quite a few would be able to. Pleeb September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 It should be noted that this topic technically falls under parapsychology. However, I believe that this test should be very easy for several tulpae I know of to pull off (pretty much any tulpa capable of walking around their neighborhood should be able to jump in this topic and try it out). It would confirm the theory that what a tulpa sees when away from the creator's senses is what the subconscious believes it to see and not what's actually there -- I think this should be worth at least testing, since there are some views of the contrary between quite a few creators and tulpae I know. By extension, it can also support my hypothesis on what is really going on with OBEs. With that being said, I'm going to suggest this reside in the Research board for the moment simply because it's more likely to get willing participants to try it out. I'd encourage any tulpa capable of walking a bit away from their hosts to try this test out a few times and report back. Spoiler An image in a signature behind a hidden tag!
Fuliam September 5, 2012 September 5, 2012 Me and Serena may attempt this soon. We'll keep you informed of the results. Follow me here http://fuliam-pro.tumblr.com/ I have two tulpa, both capable of switching and talking.
Guest Anonymous September 10, 2012 September 10, 2012 When my friend is able to impose her tulpa, we'll probably try it.
Guest Anonymous September 10, 2012 September 10, 2012 A similar test that can be done alone. "One thing I never posted about was that I did extensive testing of my OBEs. I created three big dice, and put raised numbers on them, and put them in a small black box. I shook the box, had an OBE, and stuck my hand through the box -- in order to feel the ridges of the numbers. I would "wake up", and write down the numbers." Unfortunately for this test subject, he was never once correct. "What happened is exactly what happens in a dream when you attempt to read a sign. As you move from left to right, you read something... but upon trying to read it again, you read something completely different. This is due to the fact that the part of your brain that does the "reading" is inactive during dreams. So you just create the letters on the fly... every time you read them. I would feel the ridges with my fingers, and the ridges would change. They wouldn't make sense, so I would try again -- and get something completely different. Then when I was sure I had it, I would go over a second time to make sure, and read a completely different number. And upon waking up, and checking my OBE-number with the real number -- I was wrong. Not even close. " Taken from PsiPog.net This guy didn't have tulpamagic working with him, though. Perhaps some of us would have more luck.
