for one person's experience's worth, Lumi created Reisen naturally/accidentally (in late 2009), but what he did makes sense to result in a tulpa by tulpamancy standards, so idk if "naturally plural" applies

there was a time where it was kinda common even on .info to encourage any and all random thoughts as "signs of a tulpa" and people definitely went a little overboard on that stuff, we just gave the advice we thought was right (that you can choose to accept a new walk-in by treating them like a tulpa, or you can just consider them random thoughts and ignore them if you don't, and either way there's no "tulpa inner-workings" of substance to them yet) and weathered through that time until people stopped

 

but uh, it does seem like other communities outside the forum are still stuck in that age (of like, "tulpa rights"? and giving rights to random stray thoughts that have nothing tulpa about them until you give it to them?)

I meant "tulpa rights" with quotes, not actual tulpa rights, as in treating a character you just imagined on the spot like a fully fledged separate individual who it would be murder to not welcome into the system and develop (into an actual tulpa)

 

it's really the opposite, I can imagine anyone doing anything right now, and that's NOT a tulpa, but there was a time where if people said they had even a single stray thought of a voice that everyone would tell them THAT'S A TULPA! YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM ATTENTION OR THEY'LL DIE, and that's just not right, it was just a stray thought, a tulpa has WAY more to them than a couple stray thoughts
