Chupi September 17, 2012 September 17, 2012 This is normal. Early tulpa interaction often feels like just you. With time your tulpa's responses will get more distinct; this might happen slowly, or it might happen all of a sudden one day. Frosty September 17, 2012 September 17, 2012 So when would Phi's technique come into play? When you talk aloud and hear your tulpa respond while you're talking to make sure it actually is your tulpa? I've tried that and I get no responses while talking aloud. Although maybe it's too early, I'm still in the "she responds but it sounds like me" phase. Chupi September 18, 2012 September 18, 2012 Frosty: I think it depends what sort of response you're getting. If they're just thoughts, that technique would do nothing, at least for me. Talking aloud tends to drown out my tulpa's thoughts some of the time, and yet I'm occasionally able to think to myself about something else while talking. (Thinking to myself while talking doesn't happen often, but there was a time I was asking Lyra something out loud and in the background considering how I was going to phrase an entirely different question to her. She answered the question I was thinking about before I finished asking her the other one.) If it's a louder voice-in-your-head, talking out loud would probably make you unable to run that voice yourself, and so the technique would probably work here. konrad13 September 18, 2012 September 18, 2012 Man, I get all rustled up from time to time with Koharu when we talk, but just the simple way she responds usually convinces me she isn'tt being parroted. Hard to explain, but yeah. Once we do a little more work, and then begin imposition, she should be able to respond more "naturally." Just keep at it, mang. Me: Hey, say something for this thread! Koharu: Yay, cupcakes! mfw there are no cupcakes. Sentience? Yes. Brilliance? Ehh...
Semi-Nomadic September 21, 2012 September 21, 2012 welcome to my life. I thought for a long time I couldn't hear my tulpae because I assumed it would always sound like a clear mindvoice, and anything that sounded like my own thoughts, I ignored assuming it to be parroting. Yet another toxic belief left over from the early FAQs.
