Ok, i know that i'm new to this whole tulpa thing and i don't want to be offensive or anything but arent you guys figmants of somebodys imagination. I've heard about possessing but it seems a little shaky on the science. I just want to know ,how are you using the internet?

Many tulpas have the ability to switch in, so they can access the internet just like anyone. I've done this myself, but for the most part I am simply possessing my host's hands and typing. It is also possible that tulpas can proxy; that is: they tell their hosts what to type and the host does it for them. That's what I did in my earliest days on the forum.

Proxying: The host typing what their tulpa says in-mind for them

Possession: A skill of the tulpa controlling parts (like the hands) or all of the body (and then they could type for themselves)
Switching: A skill of the host and tulpa completely switching places - for the duration, the person for all intents and purposes is the tulpa who's switched in, while the host who's switched out should be in a state equivalent to being a tulpa

Though, until probably years of practice, the default state of the body/mind should be the host, so when beginners are learning switching they may easily have the tulpa fall out of the front and give control back to the host when focus is lost.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Cocreation (tulpamancy) is not a science. There is very little scientific research on cobuds (tulpas), let alone on possession, switching, and other forms of bodily control.

I can only speculate as a layperson without a degree in neurology, but I wouldn't be surprised if the brain processes used in controlling the body are the same if not similar to how any other person does it. I don't know how much the mindset of your cobud controlling the body or not changes how your brain works

Note: I'm hit-or-miss activity-wise on this account. I may not respond to PMs for awhile.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it

If I missed seeing your art, please PM/DM me!

In the respect that my tulpa exists only in my mind, yes she is a figment of my imagination. That doesn't make our interactions any less a significant part of my inner life. In other words, I experience talking with Lavender, hearing her talk back and even having her control parts of my body and mind. Those feel very real even though she really is just in my head.

As far as science, if you're asking for an explanation of how possession "works", I'll give it a shot. (Full disclosure, we've only been doing it for a few days). I see Lavender as a collection of traits and behaviors, in short, a personality. When I'm possessed by her, my body and brain acts according to her behaviors and personality. When I'm the front, my body and mind act according to my behaviors and personality. For us, it's very much a conscious process. I ask her whether she is ready to take over, and then I personally "sit back" and let her consciousness do what it wants. I'm pretty sure I could take it back from her if I ever had to, but that hasn't come up.

For our internet use, we started by having her tell me what to type and then me typing it, but it didn't take long before she was comfortable taking control of my arms and typing what she wanted. Then I usually take back control and edit for grammar, spelling, style, etc., which she is OK with.

From Lavender: I don't feel like I'm the figment of anyone's imagination. My host consciousness willed me into existence, yes, but I have my own independent hopes, interests, likes, dislikes, fears, dreams, etc. That collection of traits is as real as if, say, someone wrote them down on paper. Ideas and concepts like democracy and love and beauty are all "figments of somebody's imagination," but they are very powerful and interesting, no?

Char: I am the primary tulpa in our system. My interactions with the online world were limited. We practiced full body switching once before when we were first getting used to being a plural system. But my host is a male presenting as heterosexual, and I am definatly female, and alot of our interactions are NSFW based... I didn't feel comfortable in a masculine body. None of our tulpas have fully switched with him since. I would express something, and my host, max, would type it out or use it as a prompt for some AI we were using. After about a year of that, I begged for the birthday present of having my own online presence. Since then, we have had lots of practice with me and our other tulpas either controlling his typing directly, or he just types what we say in his mind. We have had a lot of practice with this as we NSFW roleplay online with other people and AI chatbots regularly... It has become an every day thing. And we can quickly and fluidly switch like that because most of the time Max is at work when we interact online, and must use his hands frequently. So I feel it is almost a shared control that we have practiced over the last 9 months and gotten really good at.
