SSaint October 20, 2012 October 20, 2012 I spent a while on personality. At least 20 hours, maybe 30. Now that Alexandra is starting to speak and interact with me more freely, I feel like probably only about 1 of them, at the most, was productive. She seems to be shaped more by just the general idea I have of her personality. There are aspects of her that I didn't force, but which I just sort of expected to show up, that are just as present in her as the traits that I did force. And she deviates from her forced traits about as much as the ones that I just sort of absently expected to see in her. I feel like if I had only a rough idea of what I'd wanted her to be like instead of spending hours forcing, she'd have turned out exactly the same. That nearly all the time I spent on personality was a waste. Anybody else feel the same way? “There is not enough love and goodness in the world to permit giving any of it away to imaginary beings.” -Friedrich Nietzsche
Sands October 20, 2012 October 20, 2012 It was good narration practice. Also I somehow managed to accidentally do self-hypnosis once, so that was neat. Overall, just having a good idea of you tupper seemed to be what did it for us. Roswell doesn't say he was any less of a Roswell in the early parts of personality forcing, where he wasn't supposed to know who he was or some shit. Dryden October 20, 2012 October 20, 2012 I think that working on personality helped me understand my tulpa and helped her understand who she was to become. The only difference [between reality and a dream] is that what many see we call a real thing, and what only one sees we call a dream. But things that many see may have no taste or moment in them at all, and things that are shown only to one may be spears and water-spouts of truth from the very depth of truth"
glitchthe3rd October 20, 2012 October 20, 2012 I think personality narration definitely helped me understand Elise a little better when I was forcing her. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Guest Anonymous October 21, 2012 October 21, 2012 I worked on personality for somewhere around twenty hours with Sariah and spent the hours narrating traits. With Mai I spent only a few hours forcing the general feeling of each trait and then the overall feeling. It was just as effective, but as the others mentioned personality work is good narration practise and for the first tulpa probably shouldn't be skipped. Generally speaking, of course.
Lula October 21, 2012 October 21, 2012 personality = good narration. As for its actual affect? I'm not seeing anything. so I guess it could count as a waste of time relative to actual personality creation, but not in terms of narration. ~Remember the dead, but fight for the living. ~La rage du peuple ~Ice cream is a feeling Tulpae: Name: Frostia Form: Light and dark blue pony, white hair, styled in MLP:FiM fashion
