BrassAndBeauty May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 As you might know from seeing me around, I've just barely started on my tulpa, Beauty Brass. At first things were going well, as I was defining her personality by simply dictating it to her. However, with the recent release of ThatOneGuy's personality technique, I wanted to try something a little more visual. That being said, however, I simply cannot get into a truly relaxed state. I sit there, breathing, listening to whatever I draw out of the hat that is this site, but I don't feel myself becoming relaxed. I just feel like I'm wasting my time. So I guess what I'm asking is if you're supposed to go into some kind of meditative trance or if you're just supposed to sit there with your eyes closed for a while. DID YA MISS ME? Targaryen May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 That meditative trance shit never worked for me. I just sit there closing my eyes as well, trying my best to visualize and assign traits. You might even try to draw out the jar technique since I feel (not sure about this though) that drawing something really helps with the visualization. Status: ~210 minutes, early personality

Hawaiian May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 I relax using self-hypnosis, which can be easy to perform using this guide: http://www.wikihow.com/Perform-Self-Hypnosis Blog Current Tulpa status: Debating whether or not to restart tulpa forcing... ;__;
BrassAndBeauty May 28, 2012 Author May 28, 2012 Thanks for the feedback. From what I gather, I should either just sit down and shut up or hypnotize myself. DID YA MISS ME? Blog Here: http://brassandbeauty.tumblr.com/
Chupi May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 Pretty much. I just relax for a bit and then try to visualize, and lately using iso-tones. I intend to try the self-hypnosis, but they say it can take a month to accomplish. G|d30n May 28, 2012 May 28, 2012 I don't even keep my eyes closed all through forcing. I've only fully visualized my wonderland once or twice in order to establish it. Since then, I've just been using it as a reference. Going to my wonderland is like "going to your happy place," where I just use it as a state of mind. I'm feeling focused and creative and so I'm "in wonderland." It's also a place I can picture in order to locate the forming tulpa within my mind. Really though, meditation and visualization techniques have been fairly casual on my end. I even write things down during forcing and stuff, but I just try to eliminate distractions like people and the television and such and it's been working so far. I got my most vivid emotional responses and feelings last night (between 14 and 15 hours in) while just sitting on the couch, listening to music on headphones, and softly narrating out loud. While meditative states of mind are the best for forcing, they're not required. The best way to relax is to just sit down, find a way to cut out noise, close your eyes and just let your mind wander. You'll get a feel for what it's like to just let yourself go and figure out how to do it on purpose eventually; or at least that's how it went for me. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
BrassAndBeauty May 29, 2012 Author May 29, 2012 I'm going to try to learn to meditate. It just seems like the easiest way to make a tulpa, even if it takes some practice. DID YA MISS ME? Blog Here: http://brassandbeauty.tumblr.com/
Amped May 29, 2012 May 29, 2012 You could go try the Tulpaforcing music thread, there's some really good relaxing music in there.
