That's what visualization is.

I think I know what he meant. It's something I discovered lately, its like "seeing without visualizing", like, you think that you can visualize, and therefore you think you're visualizing, when you aren't. It's hard to explain, but it's a less vivid way of visualizing, it's harder to get proportions and is really not a visualizing method, it's just like you are "symbolically" seeing things, when your not (at least on the same way you visualize). It's a faster way to see it all because when you're only symbolically seeing, you don't have to worry if you're actually seeing the form of your tulpa the way you want or your wonderland the way you want, because since its symbolic, you are seeing the way you want. For example, my tulpa is my avatar and I always imagined her with a 2D form, with this technique though, it's pretty easier to "visualize" her form in 3D.

It's possible that more people around here know of this technique.

I'm brazilian and my english is not really good, I'll do every mistake you imagine, but I'll try to avoid them.

I have one more question. When I'm working on personality, how can I know for sure if I've forced a trait enough that it'll stick?

I've basically just been doing the method where you tell them the trait and such while you force. (i.e., "You are x, blah blah blah.)

I'm assuming that you've studied something a subject before, whether it be in school or elsewhere. There's a feeling, at the end of a study session/period or whatever, where all that information just fits nicely in your head. It should be like that, whether it takes a couple minutes, or an hour. If you're unsure about it, just narrate more. More can't hurt, just less.

I'm sorry, what?

Like I said, it's hard to explain.

How can I say it in another words? You believe you're seeing with your minds eye, but you are not. It's like a really unstable version of visualization, where you actually don't bother thinking of proportions or colors, it is just there, if I had to make it short, it's like imagining you're imagining. If you didn't get it, try it, just imagine things without thinking exactly on their proportions or colors, it might be hard if you're too used to proper visualization, though.

That's why I called it a symbolic visualization. It's not really a substitute of proper visualization, but it helps to let visualization be managed later, instead of in the first steps, like it is in many guides. If I had to name the reason for why there are people that quit in the middle of the process of creation I'd say it's because visualization is boring and people say to you to do it before anything. I know you can simply visualize an orb, but it's easier to interact and believe that something that has a form is sentient.

ah, like when you don't think of something in your mind and it is randomly filled in, but if you focus on it you don't know what it's supposed to be? like, you look at your tulpa but pay no attention to the feet but if you look without paying attention there is something there? agh fuck.

My opinions are all subject to change.

Exactly, you can't tell the proportions from it by using this, because it isn't quite there. It's like it's being processed by your brain but it's not rendered.

Yes, it is. That's why it's hard to explain. In a computer game, for example, the part of the game you're looking now is being processed by the GPU, (the graphics thingy) and when you're not looking at it, it's there but you don't see it, only your computer know it's there through other ways. So, it's like a thought that isn't quite saw by you, but it's there and you are able to somehow tell it.

I see. It's kinda like taking a quick glance at your tulpa, and retaining that glance to look at later, right?

Something like that. With this you don't need a body to see things,it's like you can see everything at the same time, all your wonderland (at least the parts you know of it) and your tulpa.

You're neither at first person view or third person view. Some mix of both, I guess. You could, for example, visualize what's in your back and what's in front of you at the same time.

Alright guys, thanks for all the answers so far!

I have one more question for now, however. The last few times I've forced, I've been trying to make a wonderland. I've pretty much failed miserably every time... I just can't envision anything even though I can easily imagine something that would work for my wonderland. Should I just forget about making one for now until I've gotten better at visualization?

If you want a wonderland, take a place you know and alter it. It tricks your mind into creating two memories, the original, and your wonderland. Since it's a true memory, it will stick and be much easier to recall. Ideally, take a place that is easily manipulable, so you can make a more fantastical wonderland. Eventually, once your skills get better, you'll be able to create one from scratch.
