This...may be my first thread here. Not sure, I haven't paid much attention to this site for a while (I have not actually done any tulpa stuff, but I love the theories and science behind it...maybe someday).

A couple things first: Sorry if this is in the wrong area, and sorry if this thread is a duplicate - I did do a search but I didn't find anything similar.

So after you have achieved sentience, the next steps are hearing and seeing your tulpa. Self-induced hallucinations. Do most people just think really hard on the sound/sight of the tulpa, or can you use ways to trick yourself?

What I mean is this: Some people can wiggle their eyebrows or their ears. Some cannot. Some people can flex specific muscles in their body. Some can't. I am able to tighten a muscle in my neck on the right side. Before, I was not able to tighten the muscle in the same spot on the other side of my neck. By imagining what it would be like to tighten that muscle while massaging/pinching it, I eventually taught myself how to tighten that one as well, the same as I do with the right side. I think this trick is commonly used in physical therapy.

By imagining the input (thinking about using the muscle) and experiencing the output (massaging the muscle) you eventually trick your brain into connecting the two.

Now, for my point. Could it be possible to do a similar thing with tulpas without having to just "think really hard"? For example, after you have achieved sentience, could you play a sound clip of someone saying something (someone whose voice you wouldn't mind your tulpa having), while having your tulpa say it in your head. Could the input (your tulpa speaking in your mind) and the output (you hearing the exact same words in an actual voice) trick you into eventually thinking that the input is the direct cause (over a period of time, of course), and making it more easy to give your tulpa a voice that you can actually hear (or, well, hallucinate).

I don't believe I've seen mention of anyone using a tactic like this. Has anyone done this? Could perhaps someone be willing to test it out if nobody has?

Yep. People do it all the time.

For seeing, there's for instance the method of blinking and daydreaming at the same time, as to keep the closed-eyed visuals intact while still catching glimpses of the scenery, eventually blending the two. A few also use a photo reference next to the position of the subjected tupper to "copy" the image over. Besides this, there's not a lot of "tricks", unfortunately.

For hearing, the most obvious and well-known one would be listening to pink or white noise and intentionally mismatch-hallucinating the consonants into perceived existence. This is usually rather easy. A trick to use with this "trick" would be to say, or whisper, a word or hum a note, and then have the tupper repeat it afterwards, as it's usually easier for us to hallucinate something we've heard repeatedly, especially when we just heard it.

For feeling, you can do the thing of performing a contract-expand movement exercise prior to the feel-up of your tupper, and then start to massage and fondle it like some sort of clay or plasticine. The alternative trick of hanging a blanket or cloth of other kind from a surface and then feeling that with eyes closed, convincing yourself that it's your tupper as part of a pseudo-placebo, can also be done.

For smelling, the trick I know the most is placing a parfume or other desirable source of smell for your tupper next to, or behind, you when you do force, acting as a passive reinforcing of a presence. Just make sure to place it farther away each time.

For tasting, Hell if I know. Pinkie likes to sometimes hand me random, imaginary food, and then have me try to recreate the taste. I simply just try to picture the actual food in a daydream and try to abstractly "remember" the sensation I'd get in my mouth from tasting it at an earlier point, assuming I've tasted it before. If I haven't, I just "put" it in my mouth and see how the sensation plays out.

Or, you know, you could just lick your totally original Lyra tupper's clitoris and then imagine yourself sucking a mint-flavored Mentos, the Freshmaker™.

Quick question, can I replace Mentos, the Freshmaker™ with orange Tic-Tacs, or would that nullify the outcome?

Let's focus on the matter at hand, shall we?

If it's a Lyra, it has to be mint.

The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)

Yes, but which type of mint? Spear, pepper, or would a winto-green Lifesaver do the trick?

Spear, I'd say.

Just pick the one that has the blue packaging if you're in doubt.
