Guest June 6, 2012 June 6, 2012 I have a "pause" and "unpause" signal that I use to signal to my tulpa that I'm narrating to them. Is this sufficient to get their attention?

I don't know what that is. You should really just talk to your tulpa as a sentient person. Make it feel real to you, and eventually it will be.

I do, but I signal to them the beginning and ending of narration so that I don't have to constantly say their name. I'm just wondering if anybody else does this.
ThatOneGuy June 6, 2012 June 6, 2012 I just whispered to Clair mostly, and talked full volume to her whenever I could. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
Guest June 6, 2012 June 6, 2012 I just whispered to Clair mostly, and talked full volume to her whenever I could. I consider you to be the most trustworthy person on this forum, so that makes me feel better (and I'm not being sarcastic).
ThatOneGuy June 6, 2012 June 6, 2012 *shrug* I don't know what I did to deserve that, but okay. Anyways yeah, it should be fine. I prefer speaking out loud and it's easy for Clair so I guess it worked. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.

Does Clair have any issues with hearing you when you're thinking to yourself? Did she when she was younger?
ThatOneGuy June 6, 2012 June 6, 2012 She's never had any issue with hearing me; even my thoughts she picks up on easily. Even when she was younger she could hear me well. It's just that they choose the communication form they hear the most. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
Charles June 6, 2012 June 6, 2012 I find that I make the most "noticeable" progress when narrating in my head immediately after a vocal narration session. However, it could be that the vocal narration is where I'm making the most advances, which I simply notice more when drawing my thoughts inward for mental narration. Regardless of which is actually the case, approaching something in a variety of ways (i.e. using multiple study aids or targeting a muscle with different lifts) does generally spur improvement in the mind and body, so it seems reasonable to assume that to be the case here as well.
HydesLittleOne October 25, 2013 October 25, 2013 I feel like I'm narrating in my head all the time with Hyde. Sometimes he just decides to talk or voice his opinion ( and he's really opinionated ) when I'm doing something he likes or doesn't like, or observing the world through my eyes. When I'm in public, I talk to him in my head, but he's not visually there with me. I don't know if it's a good idea or not if I bring him to school or work with me visually, and just have him sitting there at one of the desks or hanging out in the aisles watching me or something. When I'm alone in my room at home, I narrate to him out loud and visualize him. And wait to see and hear how he responds. "Listening to her heartbeat makes me feel alive." - Hyde Name: Hyde Age: 36 years old Form: Human Done: Form, Personality, Sentient, Visualization Working on: Imposition (vocal/visual/touch)
