NesterBones July 2, 2012 July 2, 2012 i believe, through first-hand experience, that one can alter their perception of time. when in my dream-states, time seems to move much much slower. the world around me doesnt slow, but time does. i've been been in one of these states for as long as two hours (if i remember correctly) and it felt like at least twice that at the time. keeping in mind my theory that in these states i'm essentially shutting down my body to an extent and giving the difference of energy to my mind, i agree with the idea that in an event like this you think faster as opposed to move faster. if used properly, a state of faster thinking like this could be used for a menagerie of things from intense tulpaforcing to accomplishing huge brainstorming sessions in a much shorter time span. Amadeus July 2, 2012 Author July 2, 2012 This is a very theoretical idea, but imagine being able to slow your perception and then be able to create a tulpa in the span of a day. It'd be intense mental stress, but it'd be an awesome ability. We don't get much in life. But we do have this.
NesterBones July 2, 2012 July 2, 2012 >implying nobody's tried this >hasn't been following my progress seriously though, that's what i've been trying to do My ramblings and that Host: Rob Tulpa: Kaylee
Amadeus July 2, 2012 Author July 2, 2012 Nice. We should compare notes when I'm closer to being done with Juno. We don't get much in life. But we do have this.
NesterBones July 2, 2012 July 2, 2012 sounds like a plan to me My ramblings and that Host: Rob Tulpa: Kaylee
Phi July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 I HAVE SEEN THIS THREAD. I even posted a nice little experiment to prove that this is possible. At least use the search function ;_;
Amadeus July 3, 2012 Author July 3, 2012 I did search when I made it... link? We don't get much in life. But we do have this.
Phi July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 Yeah, I can't find it either. And I took so much time on Google looking for a good experiment, too. I'll type it up again some other time.
Amadeus July 3, 2012 Author July 3, 2012 It would be appreciated. When I get to the point where I can experiment with it myself I have a number of ideas for it; working alongside a few people is what I was hoping to accomplish here, with the thread particularly being a journal for progress (not just mine.) We don't get much in life. But we do have this.
Phi July 3, 2012 July 3, 2012 Ok, here's how this shit works. This is called the Kappa Effect, and it's proof that you your brain can easily alter your sense of time. First, look at X, then cruise your eyes over to Y. It feels like a fraction of a second, right? I can't do the math for conversion, but I think the eyes can move at 1000 deg/sec. Now, do it again (you kind of have to do these back to back in order to feel the difference). Once you cruise from X to Y, cruise from Y to Z. You will notice that Y to Z takes some time longer. While it's true that Y and Z ARE further apart, at the speed the eyes move you shouldn't be able to tell the difference. Your brain is altering your perception of time to make it seem like a longer journey. This should be proof enough that your brain can do this. It also does this in dire situations, to a much larger degree. Imagine your car flips over and everything starts going in slow motion. You could do this by making a reality marble instead of a tulpa. The only difference is that a reality marble is like an imposed wonderland that you call at will. And, obviously, it has no personality. While you wouldn't have to work on personality or narration, for the time alteration you would have to tulpaforce to alter your own perception of time, which would ultimately take longer than 100 hours. The only way I can think of doing this is to use temporal illusions such as the kappa effect over and over again until you can do something. Make one in a wonderland and keep doing it or something, Hell if I know. How do you make this useful? I don't know, make your reality marble invisible so time alters and you still see your normal surroundings. Or just learn how to do it with the assistance of a reality marble, then slowly get off of using the reality marble for it. So anyway, this should at least work theoretically.
