A few of my online friends say they have tulpas, but... I am suspicious, because I'm a suspicious pony. I'm not actually a pony, that's just an expression. Anyway, how can you tell when someone really has tulpas, and isn't just faking it? I have skype, and a webcam, but I mostly talk to my online friends using a different forum's Message system, because they are on that forum. I've tried chatting with webcams and saying 'My tulpa says hi', and the response was: 'Mine says hi too'. Exactly as I expected. Anyway, how can I check if somebody really has a tulpa, and isn't just faking it? If I suddenly drop out of Chat, it means I was on my old and unreliable laptop. Was. Come to think of it, repetitiveness could be one way to tell. A tulpa would be creative to some extent, and idly making up the story of a character they RP would end up having some self-similarity.

Under the basis that tulpae are really separate consciousnesses, the MRI scan should be either conclusive or inconclusive. If no results are present, go to a psychiatrist and tell him to psychoanalyze them. If he deems them schizophrenic or with DID, you're likely dealing with a legit case. However, people CAN lie during these things, so you're going to want to hypnotize them to tell you the truth. That's not always accurate as well, so you're going to have to get a psychic to make the tulpa emerge in corporeal form. That can be faked as well, so you're going to want to use your magical mind powers to dive into the person's head and search with all your might. Since that power doesn't exist, you're going to want to shoot the blatant RPer in the forehead and repeat this process. OR, as a more result-giving, less expensive solution, you can ask them. If they're offended, conclude that you'll never be able to tell, and give up. You'll never be able to tell, that is, unless they're being stupid about their stories, but that's a different tale.
