After reading up on this 'Ingress' game I have come to the conclusion that I have no idea what's going on.

Ingress is a game in which you run around town, capturing nodes for your faction, correct? That seems to be the gist of it from what I can gather. But what does this have to do with thought patterns and how would this affect your tulpa? I'm so confused.

I don't know if that's entirely true. Games are capable of changing the way people think -- look at Monopoly, Tetris, gambling, and role-playing games for a few examples.

Funny, it's almost like you're talking about things that have been a huge part in my life. Except that they're just games. Learn to control your imagination and especially your addictions.

But there is no *correct* plural [for the word tulpa].

Welcome to the English language, enjoy loanwords getting plurals so the words can actually be used in the language, which are then considered to be correct when used in English. Spoilers: the correct plural is tulpas. Have fun finding an example of anything but tulpas as the plural outside this plural-shithole community. And even if you do, tulpas just is used so much more. New plurals do have rules they have to follow, you know. There are other Tibetan loanwords ending in -a English has adopted. Guess what the plurals are. Go on.

And Bacn, don't worry. I don't really know either. I guess my next Q&A thread will be if me eating chicken will affect my tulpa.

Perhaps I misread your post, but it looks like you're being dismissive without backing up your claims with anything whatsoever. On the other hand, I provided five links that illustrate how a game can affect your thought process. And just for fun, here's another one.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood. If you have any logical justification behind what you said, please elaborate.

Well, I looked it up. I couldn't find more Tibetan loanwords than I could count on one hand. But I did find this:

n. pl. Sherpa or Sher·pas

So it looks like both plurals are acceptable for a Tibetan loanword ending in -a. Well, at least it doesn't say sherpae.

"'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"

Not saying that the things you linked don't happen. Sure they do, we all know that. But it doesn't mean you can't avoid them and in the end, if you got good enough control over yourself, you are going to stop a lot of stuff affecting your mind. Especially if you know about them and do want to stop the effect from happening.

Basically, don't let something you don't want to affect you to actually affect you when you can help it. And in this case and your examples, you definitely can avoid it. The things you linked? All things I've tried. All effects I can distance myself from when I want to. I'm not some super special person so I believe each and every one of you can do the same.

Except that fucking Terraria stone mining sound is hard to get rid of. Tuppers ruin my life.

Don't forget lama. If you ever see someone pluralize lama as lama or lamae...
