Guest June 18, 2012 June 18, 2012 Does letting a tulpa pick its own form after it becomes able to speak slow the process of it being able to?
Hawaiian June 18, 2012 June 18, 2012 If its sentient, then it should be fine creating a form. But if you are worried about how long its going to take, then why are you making a tulpa? Blog Current Tulpa status: Debating whether or not to restart tulpa forcing... ;__;
Guest June 18, 2012 June 18, 2012 If its sentient, then it should be fine creating a form. But if you are worried about how long its going to take, then why are you making a tulpa? I've already put 50 hours into tulpaforcing. I'm hardly being impatient here. I'm just looking to do things efficiently. I'm just wondering if my tulpa having a defined physical form will speed things up.
Yotslot September 24, 2012 September 24, 2012 I think it would lengthen it some, because if you wait for your tulpa to pick its own form, you'll have to wait until it's completely sentient, wheres if you do it yourself, you can work on form and mind at the same time. Either way, you yourself have to put a lot of time into forcing your tulpa's form, otherwise you won't know it nearly in high-enough detail to impose it.
Frosty September 25, 2012 September 25, 2012 It can be done both ways. However, it would probably be a bit faster if you gave your tulpa a form, plus most tulpae like having a form so you may gain progress just from the morale boost. Not to mention it makes it easier to recognize movements, moods/facial expressions/etc. if they have a form. Usually people put off making a form because they want their tulpa to pick what they want, however you have to realize that your tulpa is probably going to take the personality/form that you really want regardless of whether or not you consciously realize that that is what you want. Deviation will probably occur regardless of whatever form you give them, so don't sweat it if you think the form you give your tulpa may not exactly be him/her, or may not be exactly what he/she wants. If it isn't, they'll change it, but the changes they make are secretly the changes you want, whether or not you realize it. So by giving them a rough form (pony, human, fighter jet, etc.) is a step in the right direction, because whichever one you want, is generally the one they're happy with. The details you can leave up to them later if you choose. But giving them a rough form at least will help visualizing them and will give them more "muchness" which should help speed up the process. So to answer your question, "will giving them a basic form speed up progress?" Yes, chances are it will. That way you're actually talking to someone, not just talking to the air. btw...how do you picture your tulpa now? As an orb or silhouette? Or nothing at all? Because an orb counts as a basic form, usually the one given to tulpae by new creators so they can direct their forcing somewhere. But yeah most tulpae are happier with an actual form, such as a human or whatever. +10 internets to anyone who understood that rambling mess. Jesus I am all over the place today. Melete September 26, 2012 September 26, 2012 I decided to give my tulpa a form immediately for realism. Arete can choose what he wears and how he styles himself, but his basic appearance is predetermined. This is because real people do not get to choose their form. I want him to be as real as possible, and accepting your appearance is part of being a real person.
Weird0 September 26, 2012 September 26, 2012 Oh, i can tell from first hand experiences. After Anemie was vocal, we both were pretty unhappy with her old from (bad decision), so we could agree on a human form but she wanted to choose the way she looks. So all i did was keeping her imposed, first very very blurry with some outlines. But over the days she got more and more details. Over the course of 2-3 weeks all the details had been pretty clear for me to see. Did it slow down the overall progress? Not that i noticed. however you have to realize that your tulpa is probably going to take the personality/form that you really want In my case: Neh. But its pretty much her style and i'm good with that. Though i would never would pick such a form myself. But we are quite happy with it. :) Recieves +10 internets. *ka-ching* They say great science is built on the shoulders of giants - not here.
