I'm kind of dragging this question out from my progress report, as no-one replied on that thread.

I'll just post what I said in my report, to avoid twisting my words this late in the night.

"I decided it would be a good idea to test if walking or physical activity would stimulate my brain more, and make it easier to visualise. Turns out I was correct, and I was able to easily see Arien walking right beside me. Something strange happened in the middle of the walk. I had a minute where I a slight mental blank and wasn't sure what to say, when all the sudden, I randomly started thinking about a song. A song I hadn't even thought about in the past year or two. It was Breakaway, by Kelly Clarkson, which used to be one of my favourite songs. I sang a solo for it in choir, during one of the best times of my life, but after high school depression kicked in I kind of completely forgot about it. I would have remembered if it came on in the radio recently or something like that, trust me.

It took me an hour or two to come to this revelation, as I had the song stuck in my head that entire time, but I began to think it was Arien who had reminded me of the song, as it came from a time in my life where I wasn't so depressive to be around."

Is this a normal thing to happen early in development?

I've got a basic idea of this, but what do you guys think this means? what is Arien trying to communicate to me?

Normal? Probably. I remember my tulpa trying to get my attention by playing a song in my head until i remembered to think of her. She still does it now, but it tends to be the lyrics she sends me, not just the general song.

If you think it's something they would try to communicate with you, it may very well have been them. Try thinking about what the lyrics say and if they have meaning. It probably won't be too long before you can do basic yes/no questions with your tulpa and ask them though.

"The way is in training."

[Well, in my earliest memory with Hassan, Hassan didn't have a whole lot of nice, real friends like me and she was already with somebody, but we definitely had chemistry. We met in a dream; she was staying with me in a room at my parents' hotel that they used to own.]

~~Guide to Ravi's pronouns~~

Ne- used like He

Nem- used like Him/Her

Nir- used like His/Her (as in "His friend is fun")

Nirs- used like His/Hers (as in "It is hers")

Nemself- used like Himself/Herself

Maybe it could be other factors like the type of the environment you were in that would trigger something as nostalgic as that. Maybe when you were walking, you probably felt at ease around Arien and your mind probably just happened to associate a moment where you felt was one of few/many epitomes of feeling positive.

For something like a random song that may cause ideomotor effects isn’t really too surprising. Maybe it could be Arien, but again, the direct approach would be to ask her and confirm it if you haven’t done so.

Just because there was a moment that reminded you of something to hopefully lift your spirits doesn’t necessarily mean it’s your tulpa doing it. Again, the mind will naturally find pre-existing memories and such to cater to whatever disposition you had at the time with Arien.
