So, lately me and Prince have found it difficult to communicate, not like I can't hear him, but most of our conversations go like "Hey Prince/Max" then "yeah?" and then ends with "nothing". It sometimes doesnt happen for a bit but we fall into the habit again. I try and tell him what I can but its hard. Especially now that I've become so attached to him.

What would you talk about with a friend?

When this happens I usually just start asking Toby random questions. There's always the typical "what's your favorite insert thing here."

Then there's always the ever favorite "who would win in a fight between a hot dog and a grilled cheese sandwich?"

I think we just became best friends

Chance told me his favorite food was grilled cheese.

Just talk about anything, really. It doesn't take much to find something to talk about. Look around you - I'm sure there's some sort of comment you could make about what you see or what's going on, and it would just go on from there.

The first question that comes to mind route isn't bad, and you could always find websites that have some pretty interesting topics/questions.

My tulpa tells me something completely whacky and then tells me he was joking.

Hysere, you're all full of good info. Thanks again. Nice website.

If you really can't think of anything to say but you feel the need to narrate for development's sake, look around and start reading anything that can be read. Long informative sign on flu vaccination? Narrate it and then debate vaccinations pros and cons with the tulpa. Got a panflet for the local election? Read through it and judge with the tulpa who you'd vote for (if you're voting). There's always something to talk about, if you look hard enough.

To build a little on Gryphon's idea, I found a good starting point with Thunder was to explain things about the outside world to him. If a subject was on my mind then I would walk him through the basic concepts. For example, I once talked him through the mechanics of sex at length because I wanted to make sure he understood it on a basic, clinical level. But you can do this with anything: a political ideal or current debate, the workings of a car, the setting of that story you used to write years ago... Whatever you think he might need or like to know in order to live in your world.

This has been so helpful, I learned his favorite food is cinnamon rolls, his favorite scent is raspberries (ew, fruit), his earliest memory is his first word, and that he's afraid of thunder. (i actually learned this cause it's storming right now =P)
