The Shadow Knight January 13, 2015 January 13, 2015 I'm having some problems when forming my Tulpa. We have a general form thought out, but for some reason she keeps changing shape slightly as if uncertain. It might also be due to me as well being unsure which form I'd like. So basically, how do I settle both me and my Tulpa on a sort of final form, one that can be changed later? Just something to work with for now is what I need.
Linkzelda January 13, 2015 January 13, 2015 I feel you answered your question, but you felt that same thing is what’s affecting consistency. In other words, if you want to settle between you and your friend on a form that they can use to validate themselves in for the time being until further practice in developing them more is done, I’d go with being content with the general form that you both are okay with. Even after years with them, I recently found last week of a form she (Eva) likes to go around in, and that new preference of hers came about after 7 hours of active forcing that day. For Ada, she’s still trying to get a form in, but we’re using the general form from the beginning as a placeholder until she can develop into a form she can consistently be in (though she seems to have longer hair now), as Eva seemed to have found out for herself for the time being. The idea isn’t about worrying about those nuances that may occur, and presuming they’re indecisive. It depends on your disposition towards the concept of deviation, and how often it should occur. For me, I just try to keep an open mind towards it all because the form isn’t the end-all be-all justification for validating their sentience, means of feeling authentic within my private and subjective experience, and things of that nature. I wouldn’t be surprised if having a form is an insatiable endeavor on their end where they may end up having a lot of nuances and major differences in the near future. You could apply a belief that this is just their way of evolving (mentally), and them finding what those ebb and flow with forms could mean to them personally, and even for yourself as well. TL;DR: I think maybe you’re worried that you can’t keep up with those nuances, and honestly, it probably won’t be as important because you’ll find out other justifications to feel that they’re real and sentient in your subjective experience as well. It’s one of those things, in my opinion, where you just try to have faith in them, and tell them that you trust in them to find a form they’re content with; even if it may take progressive nuances to get there. The Shadow Knight January 14, 2015 Author January 14, 2015 Alright this helps a bit. Its still hard to wrap my head around the thought process that the form isn't permanent. I guess I could think of it like a video game in which the appearance can be modified.
Einulf January 14, 2015 January 14, 2015 I don't know if it will help you any, but Aura and I focused on creating the "mind" and "soul" first when we created Jason and Lucia. After those were done and they were sentient they chose their own forms. Current System: Ziya (Formerly Einulf), Mizan, Aura, Dark, Lucia, Rand, Jason, Akira Here's our Tumblr, if anyone wants it
Linkzelda January 14, 2015 January 14, 2015 Alright this helps a bit. Its still hard to wrap my head around the thought process that the form isn't permanent. I guess I could think of it like a video game in which the appearance can be modified. I think it’s normal to have a difficulty having grasps on these things at times. For tulpa.info 2012 (not really an expert on the exact month and dates on this), presumptions of one having to imagine a tulpa naked before imagining them in clothes was actually a thing people believed in; almost to the point of a minor panic attack. Anyway, just like the video game analogue you’re using to conceptualize this, another analogue you could consider is that they aren’t going to be physiologically constrained as we are. But people can have tulpas that look the same for a long time; they just have their own personal set of reasoning where the form isn’t correlated to an automatic identity crisis where the tulpa somehow develops a disposition that they must sustain that whole entity of the character they’re emulating their form from. The deviation thing is just a useful contingency where maybe a few years from now, if you continue to pursue developing and interacting with a tulpa, they’ll just inform you that a certain form, or minor variation was of interest to them (just a what-if scenario). The deviation isn’t something you have to uphold, as you are personally free to map out ethics with your tulpa. In my opinion, as long as you’re aware of your ability to reciprocate for intentions of sustaining rapport, and being thoughtful of the tulpa you want to create, experiment to both of your heart’s content because your ethical framework is probably bound to expand the more you go through with this. The Shadow Knight January 15, 2015 Author January 15, 2015 Wait I don't have to imagine my Tulpa naked? o.o Have I been an idiot this entire team? x.x
Guest amber5885 January 15, 2015 January 15, 2015 Lol technically you don't have to do anything when it comes to forcing its all up to you and you're tulpa and what works best for you.
sushi January 15, 2015 January 15, 2015 The community used to believe that you had to visualize a tulpa naked, or they'd never be able to change clothes. This has since been disproved. You can visualize your tulpa in any state of dress that you want. "Some things have to be believed to be seen." - Ralph Hodgson
