So I noticed that when I wake up in the morning, I seem to have trouble talking to my tulpa Elise in mind voice. Although she doesn't usually respond when I talk to her when she's asleep, she can be awake (as shown by her being awake and doing some activity in our wonderland, such as drawing or painting) and I won't hear her respond to me when I talk to her after waking up. I asked her about it today and she says she tried talking to me but I don't seem to hear it. And I can hear her just fine if I enter the wonderland in the morning, I just can't hear her when I'm not in the wonderland. After about 10-20 minutes I can hear her fine and we talk like normal, it's just not when I wake up. I'm just wondering if it's normal for tulpamancers to not be able to hear their tulpas when thy wake up. And if so, does it get better with experience and practice hearing your tulpa? It's not a major inconvenience to not talk to her for a short time after waking up, just something I'm curious about. Thanks for any replies.

Something similar happens to me. If I wake up naturally, Fenchurch will start talking to me while I'm still dreaming. But if I wake up earlier than I'm used to with an alarm, I can't hear her for a while. Doesn't sound quite like what you're talking about, but kinda similar.

Well, I have problems getting up and making coffee when I get up, so any kind of mental focus during that time is pretty out of the question. That, combined with any kind of hypnopompic hallucinations that may or may not occur, and the fact that I also tend to be much more vulnerable to intrusive thoughts, usually in the form of mindvoice-y little sentences and such, is why I usually don't try to communicate with Markus right after waking up. I also go to sleep next to her in our wonderland so I usually wake up next to her but she's always asleep anyway so there's also that :P

Markus is the tulpa, and I don't really have anything else to say.

This is an issue I have, yeah. I wake up, say good morning, and nine times outta ten, what happens is that I know I'm getting a response, but it isn't loud and clear. Usually after ten or fifteen minutes goes by, it's all good though. It only happens in the morning though, not if I wake up during the night or if I'm waking up from a nap.

We're all gonna make it brah.

Sushi: so what you're saying is if you wake up naturally on you're own, you can hear you're tulpa just fine? And only when your sleep is interrupted by an alarm clock you have difficulty hearing your tulpa? I wake up most days by an alarm clock because I live by a strict daily schedule, but every once in a while I can sleep in and wake up naturally. So you think that maybe being woken up by an alarm clock is the reason why I'm having trouble hearing my tulpa in the morning? And your situation actually sounds similar to mine.

Yeah, that's how it works for me. Try talking to Elise on one of the days when you wake up naturally. See how that works.

Ok. It seemed to happen again for sure today, as after about 10 minutes or so (not sure) I was able to talk to her again. I could hear her in our wonderland though that's what interesting, though it was a little, muffled? I think. And ya I woke up with an alarm clock again.
